Advertising with a focus on the arts and entertainment side of the platform.
TWITCH IS A VIABLE OPTION FOR ENTERTAINMENT THAT NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT!
As people emerge from their Covid cocoons, we find ourselves competing more and more with entertainment in the IRL world -- we've lost a lot of viewers, and we're not gaining enough new viewers.
To that end, I wish Twitch would invest a little advertising budget in raising awareness of the non-gaming parts of the Platform. There are so many artists with so much to offer, and so many great communities, but people just don’t know we’re here. I think a large segment of the public would embrace the more personalized, interactive entertainment that we offer on Twitch than the “passive” interactive that TV or Netflix offers.
While we can't necessarily compete with all that's offered in the outside world, there's millions of untapped potential eyeballs who may feel uncomfortable in real life and prefer to stay home, and people who live in more remote areas, as well as people who live in places where the arts aren't as easily eaccessible.
I've met so many amazing people on Twitch, who are just introverted or shy or feel awkward in real-life social situations. These are our people! Let's let them know we're here.

One must wonder, with 10,000 people about to be fired, will there be anyone left to read this? Will Twitch be one of those "newer initiatives" that Mr. Jassy wants to cut?

Indeed, would it be possible for Amazon to spend redirect some of their Prime Video advertising budget for promoting Twitch as an alternative to the non-interactive showbiz landscape? Not everyone wants NFL games or James Bond 007 movies, after all..

For 25 years, I have toured the US playing music. I have released 17 albums of original material. My branding -- that I am a musician playing music -- is established. Yet, I have to explain to people that Twitch is a platform that features live music streaming. When I use other social media platforms -- IG, FB, Twitter -- to promote my live streams on Twitch, I still receive comments like, "I thought Twitch was for gamers."
Yes, please, invest a little advertising budget in raising awareness of the non-gaming parts of the Platform. Thank you.

Yes, please, let’s go. Tons of potential new viewers would love to hear about the music category on Twitch, 100%, inside AND outside of Twitch. I only get a few new viewers per stream and so many of them are in awe, realizing there’s live music on Twitch! More people need to know, even the regular users of the platform don’t know… !

That would be awesome to see Twitch advertise about music and all the great community that's here! Now that IRL gigs are back, I find that streaming on Twitch during an IRL GIG is a way to let folks know about Twitch. I can't tell you how many people come up and ask me about streaming and want to know when they can catch me again live and or on my Twitch Channel. I think as artists that our own word of mouth can also bring our existing audience into our Twitch audience and both grow together, and yes, some great ads on "regular TV" and or popular music streaming platforms like Spotify could really enlarge and grow the Music side of Twitch.

While I was at TwitchCon SD 2022, I met SO many amazing music streamers that all want the same thing: to be recognized by Twitch. Rashter even said he’d like to see Twitch Music get bigger. So yeah, let’s make it happen!

This is SUCH a good point. I tell someone I stream music on Twitch and 100% of the time they say, "oh they have music there too?" There's certainly many untapped viewers out there who just simply don't know about it.

I agree with Kenny. I feel so many of the younger generation is aware of Twitch from the gaming world but Twitch offers so much more in terms of music entertainment.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. Also, out of the small number of non-users who are even aware Twitch exists, there are even less who realize that Twitch is so much more than just spectating video games. There is way too much undiscovered talent on Twitch, and if streamers are going to agree to stream exclusively on Twitch in order to monetize, they ought to get a fair shake at market reach.
