bring back languange fixed hashtag
hello everyone!
im not a big fan of a new hashtag system but ive seen some good in it too
the thing is not everyone put their languange in their hashtags after the update and its hard to filter tons of streamer in a category just to find the languange that i could understand
i mean, i dont think no one is talking in 10+ languange

Hey there,
I would like to clarify some confusion about how language works separate to tags. The stream language chosen by the streamer is independent of the custom tags applied by them. Streams matching your language selections will be suggested to you, provided there are live channels with that language selection. Streamers could add in additional values into the custom tags to help, though. For example, for a streamer who has English selected as their stream language may apply a Spanish tag to indicate they know the language as well, although it's not the primary language of the stream. Alternatively, this can help other users to indicate languages that may not yet exist in the site or stream language options to connect streamers and viewers. Hope that helps. For more information on how language works on Twitch, please check out: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/languages-on-twitch?language=en_US#:~:text=When%20browsing%20on%20Twitch%2C%20you,all%20channels%20regardless%20of%20language. Thanks!

Creating this since the first request for an option like this was created 2015 and didn't changed anything yet.
Before the individual tag update rolled out, you could at least search for predefined language tags. Now since streamer can write their own tags, it doesn't work at all. Many streamers doesn't add custom tags or even the language as a tag.
How about just add the selected stream language from the streamer dashboard and add it as a mandatory tag? Streamers could still add secondary languages by tagging them.

I second this. I've been going into categories that use universal words for the game in the title (cards in MTG/Hearthstone, weapons or events) and clicking on them and it's a language I have zero chance of understanding. There is no way to remove them if they don't assign an arbitrary language tag. Even if the title uses an obvious different language than mine, those slots of discoverability for the category are just going to waste, and im less likely to browse the category as the odds of finding a stream I can just understand approaches nil.

@IceBear_EUW - Yeah I just tested out what you said, it's the same on my side. sad that it isn't an option for the English side, would at least add a tiny bit of convenience.

I noticed that, if i want to find streams of a certain language and they don't have the tag, I have to set twitch to be that language, and then they show up...
The weird thing is that when you switch site language and press on view streams with the specific language e.g. "Channels in Swedish", a language tag is added and filters the streams. If i remove the tag and manually write the same tag, no channels show up (because no one in the category has added it as a custom tag).
Whether this is intended or a bug, this sucks for discoverability.

I'm trying to find more streamers to connect with that are English speaking, and as I know, when you go into [Edit Stream Info] as an Affiliate, it allows you to select your [Stream Language].
But, as an example, if I'm searching for new streamers on Just Chatting, I find that a lot of the English speaking streamers don't have the English tag. I'm wondering if this is a bug? I often use the English tag to narrow down the amount of people I see in each category, but if i'm missing people, then it reduces their visibility.
Maybe because of the new Tags system, this function has been broken maybe? Even on my streams, I'm having to manually have "English" take up one of my 10 Tag slots, even though you had a system where tags were added automaticall before depending on category and settings.
In any case, I'd just like it if it was a strict requirement of every stream to at least have the language tag enabled. Would help with overall discoverability.

Before tags management changes into last update when I was selecting stream language it was adding specific language tag. Now this not working, it don't add any tag. I have try this with chrome, edge, firefox, opera gtx, android mobile in more than one pc and other streamers too but the preoblem persist.
It's a important problem to identify stream launguage with same word .
Please, it's important solve this.
Thank you
