Filter out Top Channels based on category feedback
I have set some categories to not recommend for me. When I go to Browse Live Channels I see channels with those categories and I think that should be filtered out based on the category recommendation settings on the account.

Maybe also give the option to select the languages in which you want to watch a stream, I'm only watching English an Dutch spoken streams, everything else I don't understand, so why do you recommend them??!!

Re-add the possibility to delete recommendations alltogether. Like, if people are not interested in Vtubers or ASMR, give back the "not interested" button next to the category that you guys recommend!
I, for example don't want to see those categories, so instead of having to "not interested" every single channel in those recommendations, give us back the option to click "not interested" NEXT to the category!! -

Either fix the code or update the help page: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/Removing-recommendations-you-are-not-interested-in?language=en_US

Hang on guys... I actually found it! The 3 button thing is real, and has "not interested"... But it's only on this one page - maybe the help page should contain a link to this URL:
https://www.twitch.tv/directory/all
Edit: And get this... It only works if you leave it sorted by "recommended for you". Sort it by high to low or change to a category like IRL, and the 3 dots all go away... It's almost as if they don't actually want you to block the bikini streamers.

The help page on this topic (link at bottom of this comment) is extremely unclear, and like others are saying, appears to not actually work.
Worse, in trying to block Amouranth's filthy channel from showing up, I ended up loading her page while she was live, so now I need to go and buy a bottle of eye and brain disinfectant.https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/Removing-recommendations-you-are-not-interested-in?language=en_US

Exactly what jean3tte said.
Broken. Also add in the ability to block tags.
Would be much better if we could also have a whitelist and blacklist of allowed/block channels *and* users by user defined keywords.
Getting so pi**ed off still seeing channels and users I've blocked a million times before appearing in my recommended feed.
Just because several thousand people watch a particular channel/user, doesn't mean I do! -

I wish the recommendation removal would actually work, because I keep getting recommended "Just Chatting" which I have opted out from more times than I can count. I'm never going to watch ***** streamers like Amouranth, so please let me actually filter out her channel.
I'm not interested in Jim Sterling. I'm not interested in the vast majority of LGBT tagged channels, because their communities are not for me and I am not a good fit for their community.
I understand that marginalized streamers use tags to get their audience, but I'm simply not interested in being their audience and similarly they wouldn't want me in their community. So let me PLEASE filter them out.
I don't speak Spanish, so I'm not going to watch a Spanish speaking streamer. Stop recommending them to me.
I can't even use browser extensions for this, because they're broken or don't work well with Twitch. I'm actively being suggested content I'll never be interested in, which is causing me to spend less time on Twitch.
It's not a win/win situation, Twitch.

I am on desktop, and there is no block recommendation option, despite the help section describing how there is and how to do it. There are certain streamers I will simply absolutely never follow or watch and I want them never to be recommended to me ever, for example specific streamers prone to playing certain horror games, or specific streamers prone to dress in NSFW ways. I'm allowed to watch twitch at work, but I want to prevent seeing certain kinds of content on it, which would normally be possible by having this feature available, but it simply isn't there despite the site telling me it is in all the help guides. Even when I go contact help staff about how it doesn't work, the drop-down menu still just takes me to the same completely-false tutorial on how to block a recommendation.

When you navigate to twitch.tv/directory and sort by Recommended For You you are able to click the three dots next to a category and select Not Interested. This removes the category from being recommended to you under the Recommended Channels section of the sidebar, however when you navigate to twitch.tv/directory/all and sort by Recommended For You, you are still shown categories that you have set as Not Interested. I believe that this is a bug as the categories set as Not Interested should be filtered out of the Recommened For You section of the directory.

idk why this has so few votes.
Literally by doing this every1 can discover new channels instead of always having streamers with 30k+ viewers on ur recommended channels,
and it will help twitch massively.i was going to give the same idea cose i cant see the 3 dots either
and when i go to a individual channel the 3 dots only have 'Report [Channel]'P.S i search a little and found the 3 dots remove interest appear through
Browse (at the top left) -> Live Channels>
The ones u follow and are online will appear on top of the list and under them will appear all the online recommended channels (followed and recommended are not seperated so u gotta pay attention where ur followed channels end / recommended channels start, AND the 3 dots only appear if u have the channels sorted by 'Recommended For You', if u order by 'Viewers (High to low), low to high or 'Recently Started' the 3 dots arent there so u basicaly have to scroll through random channels to 'remove' the channels u know u dont want. -

Ensuring users have control over what they're shown is important to the user experience. However, it is not currently easy or intuitive to remove categories from recommendations. Ideally, people would be able to search for a category, channel or tag and then easily alter their recommendations from the search results page. Currently, this is not so versatile or easy.
At a minimum, users should easily be able to remove a recommendation that appears in the sidebar. For example, by selecting the channel, and then selecting 'Don't show me this' from the same dropdown which features the report option. The omission here seems like an odd oversight.
It would also be great if a mature content filter was applied by default, or if there was an easy way to turn one on. My recommendations appear decreasingly relevant, and this might be the easiest fix.

English is not my first language, so I apologize if this is strange.
I think it's strange that even if you select "Not interested" for a game in the category, it still shows up in the live channel.
I think it should be improved so that it doesn't show up, or a filter exclusion should be implemented.
It's hard for me to select "Not interested" for each and every delivery. -

I am suffering from this bug or whatever as well.
I click the dots, it just says "report channel." Other channels allow me to select "not interested", but not all of them. It is bugged on Twitch.tv homepage.
There is no option on the Contact-Us page that allows me to submit a bug report, so I'm commenting in the uservoice feedback pages instead. So silly.

This "idea" you have doesnt work. When we click three dots to remove someone from recommended channels it just says report *** chanell... I would like to remove my self those channels i dont want to see in recommended area. ty

When reviewing the recommendations given to me by twitch, I often select to ignore the recommendation and then select to ignore the category. I have ignored many ‘gaming’ categories but still games in those same categories appear. I think I’m missing streams in the categories that I want to see.
Create the ability to opt in and opt out of particular categories so that I am served channels for the categories I’m most interested in.
OR
Fix the existing feature and truly stop channels that belong to a category from ever appearing my new recommendations.
