I'd really love to have a content warning system similar to the tag system. It would auto-populate based on the current game or let streamers add warnings for Just Chatting or Talkshow streams. I'd prefer the system to be more opt-in than a popup every time you enter a stream. It would have a button near the category and tags part of the UI that reveals relevant warnings. It would be super nice if it could be user configurable to display a pop up only if a user navigates to a stream that contains a warning they've chosen to be alerted about.

I've been trying to do this on my own by throwing a bunch of emojis on my stream titles and explaining their meaning on my panels, as well as having visible warnings on-screen, but just like with chat rules, if viewers don't have to actively acknowledge this information via some sort of pop-up, most won't notice.

As others have commented, I would propose that not only categories have "de-facto" content warning tags, but that we can, on a per-stream basis, choose which tags to apply, just as we can change categories or the stream title.
So, if I'm streaming something innocuous, like say, Minecraft, and decide to switch to a violent game like say, DOOM, I'd love to be able to manually add the "gore/violence" content warning to my stream (assuming the category doesn't already include it).

It would also be fantastic if viewers could filter by these tags, so if, say, I have photosensitive epilepsy, I can filter out all streams with that content warning.
Not to mention that this would be invaluable for parents wanting to better help their kids with the content they watch.

This also could help greatly with very broad categories like "Just Chatting", which desperately need more fine-tuning.

I love this idea so much. I think it could also be used for tic warnings. As someone with tics watching other people with tics can make mine worse or I can take on one of theirs. Having warnings would be amazing.

I wish we could add a TAG to our streams for these kind of mental triggers or flashing triggers. that would be an easy way to label our streams to protect people in our communities.

It would be very helpful as a streamer to let viewers know if they may see some upsetting content or spoilers, especially when the term "mature" is quite general. As a viewer with anxiety, I would want to know if there may be triggering content so I can enjoy my time in chat stress-free.

Agreed with this, absolutely. Especially useful for trigger warnings and gore. A game like Detroit: Become Human has a lot of outcomes, and as a Streamer, I may not know what kind of things might be coming up, let alone be able to warn my audience. There are some absolutely gruesome things in that game that happen throughout (including things like attempted ****, as well as child abuse and murder), so having that pop up would be absolutely helpful instead of me having to turn on the Mature Audience Warning just for that game, then turn it off for just chatting, etc.

It would also be great if Just Chatting, Politics, etc. could tie into this system if they’re discussing potentially triggering issues (and I could see makeup streamers also using this if doing makeup with e.g. fake blood), but even with only automated CW/TW for games, this would still be great.

This would be absolutely wonderful especially during months like October when horror games are prominent.

I think this is a wonderful way to be more mindful of the twitch community as a whole. This can let people know if something might be too heavy for them to view, or at least be able to prepare themselves.

I like this idea a lot. Right now it seems that the onus of finding what content warnings are appropriate for a game is mostly on the Streamer or the audience. Makes it a lot less welcoming than it could be.

This is an excellent idea. I make personalized content warnings for the games I stream and my community greatly appreciates it. Having this built-in to Twitch's structure would vastly improve the experience for many, and be a vital safety feature for those who require them to avoid triggers for traumatic past experiences.

This is a FANTASTIC idea. If they are afraid for spoilers, it should at the very least show a "trigger warning" box people can click on that when clicked upon will give the details of what the trigger warnings are.
