Don't Rename "Travel & Outdoors" to "IRL"

Twitch recently announced they're going to make this change, but instead of helping it will only confuse people. IRL is currently a directory that comprises multiple categories: Just Chatting, Travel & Outdoors, Music, Art, Sports, etc. There are some who are nostalgic and stuck in the past, and refer to IRL as outdoor streams only. But, as we've seen, IRL has expanded a lot over time and has become anything a streamer would do that doesn't involve streaming video games. We need to move forward instead of backward.

This would help by making the IRL directory the catch-all place for all IRL content instead of Just Chatting. The current layout of the Browse page doesn't work for everybody. It needs to be fully browseable. When we click one of the directory banners (Games, IRL, Creative, etc.) it would be better to show all the streams within that directory instead of showing recommendations. For anyone interested in discovering new channels or getting recommendations they already have a dedicated page for that: the Main/Discover page. Lets keep browsing separate from recommendations. Therefore, move the recommendations from the Browse page into the Main/Discover page to complement what is already there.

With this approach streamers may become comfortable and incentivized to use proper categories to distinguish their content, which will bring more organization, while still getting them noticed within the whole of IRL. If streamers started using the appropriate categories, viewers would know where to go to find the content they are looking for and channels would get better discoverability in return. This could also satisfy those who wished for the initial IRL category to return. That isn't practical now because of the variety in IRL content, hence a browseable IRL directory would be a much better solution.

new streaming category

I would like to propose a category for people that play scary games and watch scary videos. The category could be named "Only Scary On Saturdays". So instead of watching scary videos on Just Chatting (where people might not be looking for scary stuff) they can stream it on said title.

Restore the categories for the .hack//IMOQ PS2 games

I've been playing through the original .hack quadrilogy on Twitch since May, but recently, the categories for the entire series were deleted from Twitch:

I don't see any categories that are supposed to replace them, and when I asked support what happened, they told me to post my "feedback" here.

Can you please restore these categories, or create an overarching category for the entire quadrilogy?

Can not find "Programming" in Categories.

Unable to find "Programming" when selecting a category in the stream manager's "edit stream info" pane. Also can not find "Programming" when selecting a category in Streamlabs Desktop.

Wrong thumbnail for the game "Shin Megami Tensei"

It is supposedly the category for the first game in the series, but it has a thumbnail of the third entry in the game, resulting in multiple miscategorized videos and streams.

Image Art for Games/Categories

Let streamers suggest Image Art for categories of games that show none. If a developer/publisher is available for this game they should be able to correct it but we need a way to push for images since the games don't draw viewers in when there's no image (My issue: Final Fantasy: 20th Anniversary Edition).

Celeste Classic

Celeste Classic, or Celeste 1.0, has a thriving speedrunning community and I feel that separating the full release of Celeste and it's demo predecessor would be a much-needed edition to Twitch's category list. Also, there's a category for Celeste Classic 2: Lani's Trek. Having a category for a sequel and not the original almost worse than having a category for a sequel that hasn't even released yet (looking at you, BOTW 2).

Dreamweaver

Basically, there are several streamers who like to build/edit websites on stream. I do it, so my fans can see the changes and adjustments live for themselves. There are many versions of Dreamweaver going all the way back to Macromedia days all the way to the current Adobe version. I personally use Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 because I'm so used to the program, and that's why I suggest Dreamweaver instead of a very specific version of it.

Twitch Travel Tab Category -(For virtually travelling the world)+Pay per hour!

Dear twitch company, I have an idea for you to improve the quality of life for
Twitch company and its users. It offers a new solution that allows much more views across all your cams, the new benefit of pay per hour streaming and my idea also offers the benefit of opening up the field of advertising without being intrusive. It also would greatly increase entertainment value by adding a new thing to do while using twitch!

The Twitch trickle feed advertising system

For this idea to work we need a new fun travel category section on twitch

First part of Idea - (New Twitch Travel Category)

If you had a way to categorize all the webcams
on twitch to Countries/Cities/Towns/areas as a separate
feature, users of twitch will want to travel virtually the world
of twitch webcams to see the people of the world as if being on holiday.

This new Travel feature should make it easier for streamers to
gai views because of the nature of how travelling works in the real
world. If you want to see who is playing music in Bulgaria you click
on Bulgaria. If you want to see who is dancing in Tokyo, you click
on dancing in Tokyo etc, etc.
This new feature would allow more entertainment value to the twitch
viewer and allow for an easier way for all streamers to get views as
an additional feature in a tab on Twitch main page.
This new category feature also allows an opportunity for trickle pay for
all streamers and a way for all worlds bloggers/site owners and businesses
to get cheap advertising.

Tab idea - On the main Twitch site on the left you could have the words
Twitchtravel with a logo of an aircraft at the end to make it seem an
interesting area to click on on twitch.

Next keeping the bits system as it is for streamers, especially pros I have
a new way to pay per hour every streamer using twitch through
a type of advertising I call trickle stream advertising and will work well
with the new Twitch travel zone cateogry ive just explained about above.

Let us look into this more

Second part of idea - (pay per hour per streamer idea)

If it were possible for streamers when live to have a
thin area at the very bottom of the feed for small news
like banner that feeds mini adverts quickly one after the other,
you can stream and be paid per hour every time you stream.
The mini banner system I talk of is used on Tv news sites and can be non intrusive to the stream quality by keeping the news banner as thin as
possible. The adverts must be quick and short to work properly so you can
have up to 50 ad running at one time per stream which keeps the news banner stream fresh too.

Let us say you had 50 quick adverts running in your
news banner in succession while you stream. You can charge an
advertiser at £0.05 per hour for non stop
streaming wichh works out only £36 to each advertiser for up to month
long adverts.
Thats a lot of cheap advertising for a whole month of non stop ads!
The streamer would get £0.04p x 50 ads which is £2
per hour stream ongoing regular cash and at 8 hours
streaming gives them £112 income which is good for
poorer countries worldwide and a good incentive to
stream more on twitch. No longer do you need to rely
solely on bits and every streamer should benefit.

Twitch company
of course would make £0.01 per hour profit per streamer which is nice.

Now on to two ways to make the advertising work

Third part of idea - (Twitch sub page advertising)
You could set up a twitch subpage for world wide
companies/bloggers and site owners users to offer advertising
to streamers for their websites and blogs at the above hourly rates. (Over time
it could become a known place to go for world advertising if it worked.)
Now this sub page advertisers can ask streamers to use their adverts on their
news banners at pay per hour prices.

The subpage would become a sort of database of advertising for all
streamers to use on their feeds. All the streamer has to do
now is simply click on the ads it wants running from the list of advertisers and then the news banner feeds quick mini ads while the streamer streams. This
new subpage area of course by its nature would have a limit of ads available
initially but would improve once it gets known worldwide. Also Twitch users
could offer advertising here for their blogs/sites and businesses as well, maximising adverts available.

A point to note regarding the subpage advert limitations

If you used the Travel category system on twitch I mentioned initially, the adverts on the news banners could be localized around the world by getting streamers to connect to people in their local area to create the advertising for their news banners on the bottom of their streams. The advertising would be then be localized and unique to each streamer on twitch, overcoming the limitations of the subpage system.

Lets look into one way for localized advertising to work

Fourth part of idea - (Localized twitch leaflets)

Trickle income benefits every streamer with ongoing pay per hour income but it needs advertisers to work. To maximise the amounts of adverts for the mini news banners, the streamers can do a small twitch ad leaflet drop to their neighbours with twitch leaflets, they can suggest Twitch streaming to others, tell them about their streams and also show customers the advertising system allowing people around their neighbourhood the chance to advertise their own blogs, sites and businesses on the news banner ads on their Twitch stream.
By doing small leaflet drops streamers in each area of the
world benefit from collecting advertising from people in the local area for blogs,
sites, local businesses, and new streamers. If every streamer did this, every streamer benefits from localized adverts on their mini news banner on thier streams.
You could have a pdf template on Twitch for a
barebone leaflet that can be edited by each streamer for printing a few leaflets.

That is the brunt of my idea and it sounds like it could work and benefit.

I see this idea as a great way for streamers to be paid per hour.
I see this as a great opportunity to meet the people of the world and their talents while using Twitch.
I see this as a fresh way to be entertained as a twitch user and also a great way
for worlds advertising to increase, especially seeing as nowadays it is better
for us to work at home due to coronavirus.
I also see this as a great way for more streamers to get more views instead of being stuck at the bottom of a long scrolled page due to streamer numbers on twitch.

Finally for Twitch Company at 0.01p per hour profit per streamer, you get a fine bunch of income for your company too if this all worked out.

Please feel free to use this idea to improve the quality of lives around the globe
and the value of Twitch Company

'Speedrunning' as it's own Twitch category

Not every streamer uses tags, not every speedrun game is a commonly searched game directory. What if we gave more visibility to speedrunners by having a category just for this type of gaming. That way people with the interest can find new speedrunners and even get to know new speedrun games.

Speedrunning is no longer a niche hobby, it has grown massively on Twitch over the last five years, not to mention some of the largest fundraising efforts on the platform are speedrun related.

Separate WoW Classic and WoW Bfa Sections

Please, PLEASE add a separate section for WoW Classic rather than just combining what used to be the WoW Bfa section with Classic. Since Classic launched, the WoW streaming section has become absolutely INFESTED with pretty much just Classic streams and I'd like to be able to find Bfa streams when I want to watch them instead of having to go digging through the entire section for them like I'm digging through the racks at TJ Maxx for a good outfit.

Add KeyForge Game

KeyForge (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KeyForge) is not a recognised game in Twitch. It's a physical card game, not a video game, so it can't be added through IGDB. But it's played a lot online too, specially since the pandemic, through thecrucible.online and tabletop simulator.

We have daily streams, and some popular streamers such as:

Followed categories stop showing up after following too many

Once you're following what I think is around 80-100 categories, they stop showing up on your list of followed categories, even if they have live streams. I like to discover streamers by following a bunch of my favorite games, but I'm running up against this limit constantly, and have to keep unfollowing and rotating out games. Would love this limit to be increased.

F1 Manager game category name change to F1 Clash

The mobile game F1 Manager was recently rebranded to F1 Clash. The game is still exactly the same as before as it was only rebranded but the game category for the game on Twitch is still named F1 Manager, a game which no longer exists.

Can the game category F1 Manager please be renamed to F1 Clash.

The game information also refers to a completely different game produced many years ago by EA, and not the current F1 Manager/F1 Clash mobile title developed/produced by Hutch.

Final Fantasy TCG Category (FF TCG / FFTCG)

The FF TCG has been going since 2011 (and was rebooted in 2016, thriving ever since).

Currently when real life events are streamed, there's no category for this to be streamed under. The closest thing is for the Final Fantasy Digital Card Game, which was something entirely different for Yahoo customers that closed down in 2020.

Other TCGs have categories to use for real life events or event for players to stream their webcam practice or online simulator games. For example there's the "Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game" category alongside all it's actual games that Konami use for events and stores can use when they're hosting events too, as well as online non-video game practice as well. This also exists for Magic: The Gathering and the Pokemon Trading Card Game.

Final Fantasy is a huge franchise and the TCG is developed enough internationally that it deserves a dedicated Twitch Category to help it continue to grow online and in real life.

Please add a 'Scambaiting' category

There are a lot of scambaiters on Twitch and that list keeps growing. It would help scambaiters in getting exposure as well as assist members of the scambaiting community in finding new scambaiters to watch if there were a scambaiting category. This is something that would be quick and easy to implement.

splinterlands

Hi I have been actively streaming a blockchain based trading card game called Splinterlands and I am struggling to get viewers because there is no category for the game. I see that you have other blockchain games with their own category IE Axie Infinity. Right now I'm basically forced to use card games as the category for my stream but no one looking for a Splinterlands stream will be able to find me. Splinterlands has tens of thousands players and there are already several people aside from myself that stream it daily. Please help us struggling streamers out by adding Splinterlands to your list of categories!

Stop allowing streamers to tag MSFS when flying P3D, XP, or DCS.

When streamers improperly tag MSFS but stream these lower quality sims it deters potential new users of MSFS because they associate the poor quality of those older sims with the new sim.

This also puts streamers who are exclusively streaming MSFS at a severe disadvantage for growth when streamers take advantage of tagging MSFS just for the views.

This practice of tagging MSFS and then streaming P3D, XP, FSX, or DCS is also against Twitch's TOS and needs to be addressed.

These categories are all part of the same games.

Neverwinter Nights:

* Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide

Mini Painting

Let's get Mini Painting added to the Categories list!
I'm a full time Mini painting streamer, and I know tons of fellow painters would love to use this category.

A new category Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary Edition

Tomb Raider: 10th anniversary edition is a never released game by the original Tomb Raider developers Core Design. This game recently was made playable by the fans and is regularly updated.
It would be great to have it as a special category since more and more people stream it. Right now we have to use "Tomb Raider Anniversary" category which is not relevant to this game as "Anniversary" is a different game by Crystal Dynamics.

Imperivm III needs merge

Imperivm RTC - HD Edition "Great Battles of Rome" is the new HD Edition of the Imperivm III. Imperivm fans need to merge "Imperivm III: Great Battles of Rome" and "Imperivm: Great Battles of Rome - HD Edition" categories.

It is also necessary to correct the name of the merge to Imperivm RTC - HD Edition "Great Battles of Rome"

Category for Video Art streamers

Hello, there are an increasing number of video artists using twitch, but no good category to bring them together. Some use 'Art' but tend to get lost in the sea of traditional artists (painters, drawers etc). Some use 'Music' since their video art is often accompanied by music, but again the focus of that category isn't really right for what they're doing.

Most of the video artists I'm aware of are either generating artistic moving video patterns from scratch (like '70s-style psychadelic music videos, but moving far beyond that with modern technologies) or curating, reshaping and modifying pre-existing video (glitch, colorise, recomposition, remixing etc) to produce distinctive and unique new works. Many are using specialised physical hardware or software, but I'm sure there are others out there using other techniques I don't know about yet... because there's isn't currently a category to group us all together so we can find each other!

If you'd like some recommendations of streamers I know of who would fit in this category then I'd be happy to provide them.

Our community isn't all that large... yet... but I do think we are unique and distinctive and it would be worth giving us a focus and a way to find each other so we can grow together.

RPG Maker Category and/or Tag

Condense all versions of RPG Maker (MV, XP, VX etc.) into just 'RPG Maker'. This will mean that RPG Maker streamers get more traction & exposure if everyone points to one singular, all-encompassing category.

If that's not possible, even just an 'RPG Maker' tag would be enough, so that people can just stream into Science & Technology with that tag attached.

Add a hidden gem directory button

Summed up, for the new directory buttons that are being experimented with to supposedly help adding discoverability to the platform, could there be a fifth button that exclusively shows streamers who has been streaming consistently for atleast six months, but average less than 10/15 viewers?

Adding DMZ as a game category to help discoverability

would like to add call of duty : dmz as a separate category on twitch to help discoverability for dmz creators so we aren't all lost in the warzone category

have had multiple people stop by saying they are looking for dmz content but its hard to find
