Make Art/Creative its own directory
Hey all!
We’re excited to announce that we’ve rolled out the new Creative directory today!
As we mentioned before, the Creative directory features creators in our artistic categories including Art, Beauty & Body Art, Food & Drink, Makers & Crafting, and Software & Game Development. This will make it easier for both viewers that want to discover creators in these categories and creators looking to find and connect with others who stream creative content.
We expect these directories to continue to grow over time, so please keep the ideas coming. And if you believe an existing category is missing from this list, please let us know.
Thank you for all your feedback and as always we look forward to more of it. We’re looking forward to seeing you, your communities, and your creativity in the new directory!

Art SHOULD have its own category. Artist are necessary. For everything. They deserve to have a space for them so they can have the recognition they deserve.

Art needs to be its own category, or bring back Creative and stop trying to shove artists and crafters under the rug! It's bad enough Twitch is killing musical experiences. Don't open this can of worms, please.

Also, freaking MUSIC should be INCLUDED inside ART section, since it's a form of expression or done by commissioning the CREATOR (artists) who's choice of artistic expressionism is MUSIC. Turn your freaking brain on. This is ******* me off 100%. Lets all take a dump on uniqueness and something different, yeah fudge it twitch! Sometimes i feel like brainless people lead the company 100% Good, chase that sweet sweet profit....way to ruin a man's day. And YOU ARE the ones to talk about equality...PFFFFFFT... this is dumb AF...recollect your bull***t thoughts.

Art is such an amazing medium for creative people! And making that difficult to find is a shameful thing to!

Here you guys go, dunking ART once again place where some of the most original content comes from which the entire twitch is made of, you decide to burry it. I guess IRL borderline nudity streamers bring more cash and thus deserve a section, right? but not art, right? Shameless

art should definitely have its own category since it is such an integral part of twitch especially with emotes.

Without Art category, twitch would not be where it is today.

Art is such an important category to have for artists to have a platform, and I think you are doing all artists a disservice by shoving it in to the IRL category. If this was done for purely design aesthetic reasons so that there were only 4 main category bars, then please consider making a Creative category where you can put all art subcategories (including music). So instead of it being: Games, IRL, Music, Esports; the categories can be: Games, IRL, Creative, Esports.

So many platforms do not give artists and their work consideration when making changes. Especially when the art community helps make up the backbone of the community. Do not make twitch another one of those platforms. Burying artists in a broad Irl category will make it even more impossible to find these creators. If you must simplify you UI at least use a “creative” category.

I streamed art on twitch since you could get in trouble for doing so, back when it wasn't allowed and when this was only a gaming site and i can confidently say over the years the art side has been ignored and given short stick. Plenty of art streamers are jumping ship and these are people who had consistent 300 + views every art stream. The ones who stayed now dropped from hundreds down to 15 or 20 viewers a stream.
Now I know #1 twitch is meant to be a hobby for most, twitch will not become a full time job for most and that's fine. #2 The average viewers per stream has been going down accrost the platform as an average for many reasons, one being basic supply and demand, more streamers to watch means less average viewers per stream. #3 Twitch is not a platform people grow from, its an augmentation platform due to its bad discoverability factor.
However, when you have successful streamers streaming art to hundreds of viewers and these streamers are jumping ship because they feel they hit a dead end and reached the cap for art on twitch then the issue is the category and site. There's a reason these successful creators rather spend there time literally anywhere else, its because they have room to grow on other sites, and with twitch hiding the art section and not giving us a damn space or voice of corse we're going to leave for places that allow us to move up. Frankly, I think the art section has been dying for years, and any negative phases that twitch experiences are compounded for the artists because how hidden we are. Lumping artists with IRL might seem smart on paper because ok there's tons of people in IRL so those people will trickle into art streams right, well no. When you're whole algorithm and viewing set up is based on views all of the art streams are going to get drowned under the IRL streams.
We all know most people dont scroll to the second page of a search, we all know, the average viewer isn't going to go out of their way to dig for content they dont even know exists, so you can bet with this change it will become harder to find art streams. Twitch knows this, they have the numbers and stats that make it obvious that people dont go out of their way for content. In other words they know this would screw art streams and who knows maybe that's what they want knowing its not their money maker, knowing IRL and Gaming are their cash cows. Seems more like a calculated way to get rid of art and artists, another reason we in the art community feel underappreciated and feel shunned on this site and why many people take their art elsewhere. As someone who streamed art before it was anything on twitch, It somehow was better back then than it is now and I've lost faith in twitch to care about the creative community. -

Please, these are the people that make your emotes, banners, etc. This is their job too. We aren't just IRL fun times. Our work takes effort and time and we're not just talking or walking around a city. Hand cramps deserve their time. Please.

Give Art its own category, not shove it under IRL.

Twitch is out of it's mind. The mistreatment of us artists has hone on far too long and their poor handling of us has to stop. It's shameful.

Emotes, banners, overlays, panels - art is a cornerstone for your platform's success and the near entirety of it is user-generated. Art streams deserve their own directory.

Art section is growing again, and twitch want to whittle it down? Please put it on different category as art itself is a huge and broad section
