Make Art/Creative its own directory
Hey all!
We’re excited to announce that we’ve rolled out the new Creative directory today!
As we mentioned before, the Creative directory features creators in our artistic categories including Art, Beauty & Body Art, Food & Drink, Makers & Crafting, and Software & Game Development. This will make it easier for both viewers that want to discover creators in these categories and creators looking to find and connect with others who stream creative content.
We expect these directories to continue to grow over time, so please keep the ideas coming. And if you believe an existing category is missing from this list, please let us know.
Thank you for all your feedback and as always we look forward to more of it. We’re looking forward to seeing you, your communities, and your creativity in the new directory!

Art, Music and IRL are all separate topics from IRL chats and should be treated as such. Attempting to lump those categories under "IRL" will burry arts and artists from being discovered and homogenize twitch as a whole like it previously was. Give the arts their own space and twitch can grow to a wider audience!

Art is not just IRL, it more than that. There are many new artists that are coming out and to put them under just one category is unfair. Why not add Creatives, which would cover anything that would have to do with Art, as it encompasses much more than drawing. If you lump us all in IRL we are going to go lost as many people coming to Twitch avoid that category, as they don't seem to understand it. Make an Art section, or better yet, a Creative section.

Art should have it's own category. It isn't just an IRL stream, there is more to it than that. I would hate to see some of the wonderful artists get lost in the mix because it's all lumped under one big umbrella

Art needs it's own directory! There's such an amazing community of artists and creatives on Twitch and I REALLY don't want to see them get buried in a IRL category.

Please Have art as it's own Directory, there are tons of amazing flourishing art focused communities on Twitch that will be lost in the shuffle if you generalize it under a non descript heading.

How can you have a Music directory but not a directory for Creatives? There needs to be a place where the creatives and artists should be visible. Don't try and lumps us in IRL.

Given that you went out of your ways prior to create art subsections for better distinguishing between the content provided, why wouldn't you logically also provide it its own category? The framework is all there. It wouldn't be difficult. It's frankly embarrassing that it's taken THIS long, though I suppose embarrassing decisions are the "in" thing for this site as of late, aren't they?

Artists need their own category. Having to scroll thought endless amounts of irl streams to find art streamers will kill art on twitch.
Artists need to be able to find each other so we can support each other and people looking for art streams need to be able to find them as well. Removing the Art category will only damage the art community on twitch. -

why is Art a part of IRL? because of the aritsts? because artists use real life things?? But their art is different from real life, especially if it's digital. people who want to see people make art won't think of the IRL category, they'll want to search for a creative category. you are making it harder for those people.
please consider this.

How is music a category, but art isn't, lmao.

Hello I am an art streamer and the fact that the new Twitch interface takes away the art category and lumps it in with other things is very frustrating. I just started streaming about a month ago so I could discover new artists and have a place to share my art, but this new feature will make discoverability really difficult for artists. Now I am reconsidering not streaming if this happens. Please put Art in its own category.

Man how is Art IRL when it's such a broad topic? Is digital Art IRL too? Bro like WHAT???

this is laughable considering how messed up their music situation is
Like even humming a familiar time can get you in trouble
So to give it its own category and not art... absolutely baffling -

Please do not take away the ART category. I have been watching twitch a lot this year and I mostly watch artists who are drawing. If you took away the category for Art I would find it very difficult to discover new streamers to follow. As it is Art category is so big with so many people streaming to it each day that I cannot even scroll to the bottom and new streamers cannot be found easily, if you drown that out further by putting into such a broad category is IRL I would never be able to find new artists to watch and new artist streamers would not be able to grow on twitch at all. Please reconsider and keep the Art category moving forward.

Artist streams are much more interesting than video games/just chatting streams
-
TadpoleJackson42 commented
most IRL streamers i have seen are just pretty faces that are just chatting with their chat which is nice but is totally unrelated to art/creative/warhammer/makers/crafting which generally are people creating things and i think the categories should be seperate

I’m not a streamer myself, but a good friend of mine is and she’s made a lot of progress since she started doing this, only for that progress to be halted because of such an arbitrary categorization of things. Music has its own category but other types of art don’t? Excuse me, but that is just stupid.

Creative works need their own category. Why should gaming content get 2 while artist are stuffed away in a sub category!
-
antlerdads commented
there is no good reason to miscategorise art this way, especially with the space for a creative category in the place of music, another creative craft. this is a huge middle finger to art streamers on the platform as their content will become even harder to find

Give us artists the recognition we deserve. Very frustrating that we're thrown in a subcategory!
