Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.
Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.
Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

How hard is it to take 5 seconds to make a tag and label it Trans? Seriously...it's not rocket science.

In the spirit of figuring out 2021 together take your own words and roll with it and add the Trans tag

It's hard to not get a little upset about this as a trans person when it has been since March when this idea was shared. I hope you can understand that fact while reading some of the agitated comments. What hurts is that it's seemingly some cis people sitting around debating (or a lack of) what's best for the trans community when the community is right here telling you that this is what we want and need, but I could be wrong - maybe there are some trans staff out there I'm ignorant to. It wasn't long ago that you had a trans woman featured on the Twitch channel itself as a brief game awards host. It was a few months ago you had a band with the lead singer sporting a shirt that says "Black trans lives matter" also featured on the Twitch channel. Wonderful, the increasing exposure of the trans community is greatly appreciated from me and I'm sure many others. It's exactly what we need to show non-community members that there's nothing to fear here, as fear is a product of hate, and that we aren't so different from the rest.
We have the global trans lives matter emote and the growing affirmation of gender-neutral terms as well as more and more opportunities in the esports world itself. I can see that someone on Twitch cares. Part of me feels like you may be waiting till January 22 when the new hateful conduct and harassment ToS comes up. If that's so, a little bit of communication would be great and not just for us. I'll continue with my reasoning in the wake that this is not the case though.
As I've mentioned in a previous comment, the implementation of a tag for drag queens is beautiful and great, but I'm not really sure how that's a thing while a trans tag for a massive community still isn't. The sooner this happens, the sooner some of us can start building communities and having easily accessible "safe spaces" on your platform too, because the LGBTQA+ tagged community is still full of transphobes. You can remove emotes with the snap of a finger (this is good) but somehow still linger with the idea of a positive community-driven tag (not good).
Though I know trolls will be in and out, that's something we can handle EZ. Most of us have dealt with hate IRL and while gaming as well. This wouldn't be something new for us. We aren't as vulnerable as you may think. You are only punishing us, not the hateful people. Having a community would make trolling that much easier to deal with if need be as well. Another point, I know I myself am tired of supporting streamers in the LGBTQA+ tag that eventually say something transphobic when I could have just been giving my time and financial support to someone in the trans community who deserves it, not a cherry-picking member of the LGBTQA+ tagged community. I know I myself am mostly just waiting for this tag to start streaming again. It would help with hosting, finding teams, and just giving a sincere feeling of belonging on Twitch without feeling like there have been missed opportunities of getting myself out there. Thanks to whoever reads this.

Wow they literally banned that emote soo quickly and for a simple thing adding a tag for me and other fellow trans streamers they don’t. like I don’t understand isn’t this enough of votes or something is it that hard to add a frekin tag?

What a beautiful day to request that Twitch implement a Trans Tag for those who would be willing to use it.
Fun fact: no one can use it until it's been implemented (it's true!). -

Fixing this issue takes ALMOST NO EFFORT. But you are still willing to leave us out in the cold. as we have said literally hundreds of times, having this tag could help many people and hurts NO ONE. Fix it.

bring in the trans tag ALREADY you're not helping lgbt+ streamers not get raided by phobic edgelords, you're just getting in the way of their representation!

Options are awesome. Creating a trans tag will allow people to choose whether they want to use it or not. Right now, the best option available is to respond here.
Can't use the trans tag, because it doesn't exist? Come here and mention it again. -

Those who belong to communities like the trans community, like the disabled community, should ALL be able to find others like them easily. This tag would be the first step toward making that possible.

Honestly at this point twitch you have failed to deliver!
If the money i was spending on a subscription was only helping you I would have cancelled it by now.
You can't blame anything for your lack of input into this!
Post more updates!
Implement the trans tag.
Let the streamers and the mods of those streams worry about the already present trolls.Your not improving anything by not adding it.
And I dont see how adding it would change anything that is already happening on your platform in regards to trolls.
ADD THE TRANS TAG. WE NEEDED IT FROM DAY 1 ON TWITCH. WE NEEDED IT FROM MAY 2019 WHEN THIS WAS STARTED. WE STILL NEED IT NOW!
Trans Rights!

Idk which Twitch exec's need to hear this but your platform is already really diverse. Adding a trans tag is not that hard and would do way more good than harm. IF you're worried about streamers leaving because of it, then good you don't need them to be on your platform spreading hate. You'd probably gain a lot more streamers by doing so.

Just a reminder you are ignoring your user base and making already isolated people feel more excluded. #transtagnow
