Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.
Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.
Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

A trans tag is a good idea & should be implemented

your excuse of "it would invite harassment" is quite frankly pathetic. if you cared about harassment on your platform, you would moderate your own chat during large events, and would take steps to ensure the creators that you feature as pogchamp or on the front page are protected from racists and bigots. the trans community WANTS this tag.

Saying "we haven't forgotten you" isn't enough. Please add the Trans tag, as requested by the very members of this community, and let them decide what is good for them.

Please do the right thing and make this tag available. It's a simple change that will have tremendous benefit in terms of allowing people to self-identify and find their community, which is what makes Twitch a powerful platform and a place where people can feel empowered and welcome.

Echoing the comment of Rachnovak below as she has put it perfectly: <3
“In the spirit of inclusivity, this tag should be included. Having a tag allows members of the trans community to find streamers that they identify with and to have a safe space on the internet without the fear of facing transphobia. It's sad the website hasn't implemented something like this yet. Do better for the people on your platform.”

Absolutely needed. "We haven't forgotten you." You removed "blind" playthrough in a day & made" virgin" & "simp" no no words all since you updated in October. Empty talk. Your priorities are not in order.

The trans community needs this tag. Please provide it. It should be THEIR decision, and their decision only, on if they want to use it and put themselves out there. Being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I have seen transphobia from other members in the community. A trans user should not have to sift through 100's of LGB streamers to find 1 trans streamer. Twitch withholding this tag from the trans community is an act of censorship, NOT protection. Please give them what they have been asking for. Twitch has no right to make these decisions for the trans community when they still allow racist, homophobic, transphobic, and ableist usernames to be created on their site. You removed Blind Playthrough in a day, you can add the Trans Tag just as fast. Do better please.

Last time you even addressed this thread was in October. We have over 5000 votes. We have 630 comments! You can't possibly argue this isn't wanted by the community. We shouldn't have to fight this hard, just to be able to have a tag on our channels. Even the media is picking up on this before you, and they only notice trans people when things are Really Bad. Twitch, what the ****?

Why is there no tag yet? People who struggle like this should be able to find welcoming communities. They shouldn't have to search through thousands of other streamers to find the one that they can feel comfortable and understood at. There are a ton of trans people on twitch, more than some of the existing tags get used, so it really doesn't make a lot of sense to not add a tag.
It doesn't set a difficult precedent for other tags, even if it did, you're a private company, you can just say no when pedos try to get their own tag. Giving a trans tag to the community is simply a way of saying "hey, let's help you find somewhere you're wanted. You shouldn't have to put up with all the hate and discrimination from these other streamers you've been chased from."
Be an ally. Twitch. Please.

Adding a tag doesn’t force it to be used, not adding it like this shows your true colours though.
You guys at twitch transphobic or what? You can answer that by ignoring us some more, dw.
