Trans tag request

It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.

Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).

We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.

Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.

Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

Give us a trans tag! Ya'll haven't "checked in" on this since October 19, 2020.. Reevaluate and come back to us with some actual good news AND a tag.

On march 31 it will be transgender day of visibility. It will be the third one since this request went up. Twitch does not seem to want us to be visible.

I wonder if you even have any trans representation on the team that is supposedly looking at the alternative solution?

Regardless, this seems like a process which should have engagement with the community, not be opaque.

I seriously don't see why this couldn't be a thing? It's been over 2 years since the suggestion was made and all that's been said is "we feel there might be a better solution"... If you haven't come up with said better solution in 2 years maybe it's just a sign that this is a good solution already and should be implemented? Maybe?

The logic around why a trans tag isn't already a thing is extremely suspect.

Just another day of requesting that Twitch help to set up a trans tag. Options are awesome.

as a trans nb person, this would be a really good tag to have and it would help me connect with my community better

This is so so so so SO important! It goes beyond transparency and visibility. This is about being recognized, validated, and part of the legacy of Twitch and the future of streaming platforms!
