Trans tag request

It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.

Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).

We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.

Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.

    The trans community has a long history of feeling left out of the LGBTQ+ community. Most streamers with the tag I come across are cis-gendered gays or lesbians. This would be a nice, inclusive addition to the tag list!

    I've been getting emails about this since I voted in favor of the trans tag, and I think many people here are taking the wrong approach. Twitch is a company, it does not care what it's like to be trans, not even in places like the US, Alberta and the east coast in Canada, Poland, the middle east etc... You cannot appeal to basic decency with a company, the only way Twitch will add the tag is if not doing so significantly hurts their profits or possibly they are concerned that it will.

    Over 1100 comments and nearly 9000 votes for this. Options are awesome, Twitch. People can choose to NOT use the tags you add, but until you add them, no one can choose to use them. Options are awesome. Plz consider this.

    It's been multiple years and twitch still hasn't added a trans tag. There's already an lgbtq+ tag why is it so hard for them to add a trans tag.

    This isn't hard to put in place. Just do it, you already have an LGBTQA+ tag. A trans tag is just an extension of that.

    This tag is so desperately needed, it helps find spaces where trans individuals can feel safe or connect...why has there been no answer on this Twitch?
