3. Video (VOD) not resuming after ads play if not the active window

   Video (VOD) not resuming after ads play if not the active window

   I've got a Video (VOD) running as a background tab / not the active window, and every time after the Ads have finished playing the Video will pause until I go and make the window/tab active.

   I only have the one screen, and I like to listen to streamers talk more than I watch, so I'll often have live streams or VODs in a background window/tab. Live streams are fine, but VODs have a serious bug where the video does not resume after ads.

   For me, this is as annoying as heck and inconvenient enough that I'm contemplating searching for another way of watching/listening to Twitch VODs.

   This is happening in Firefox and a (never touched) Microsoft Edge.

4. Hello I've been using the mobile app on an Android device and I've noticed that the video always freezes whenever it is set to Auto for perf

   Performance settings on the mobile app do not save when navigating between multiple streams. Example, when I'm watching a stream, the performance of the video freezes whenever it is set to Auto. Whenever I join a stream initially it is set to Auto to circumvent. This I have to switch to 1080P close the stream and then reopen it. Then it will no longer be frozen. But if I go to a different stream and then come back to that same stream that I switched from Auto it will default back to Auto. There is no option within the user settings to default to not using Auto for video performance on mobile. 5. Bug Fix - Disabling Autoplay now causes an Infinite Loop

   I tried notifying twitch support but they don't read and just give automated responses.

   My "idea" is for you to fix this very obvious bug that appeared a few days ago and significantly impacts both you and the end users..

   Problem: When autoplay is disabled, it causes an infinite loop in twitch player which creates very high CPU usage and runaway memory usage that grows constantly until the tab crashes or video fails. It also causes incredibly poor performance on the site..

   It's very easy to reproduce. My tests have been on multiple machines with multiple versions of Firefox with no extensions. I have also confirmed that other people are having the issue and they said it is happening in Chrome as well.

   To reproduce, disable Autoplay on twitch (block Video and Audio autoplay)
   Go to any streamer's page (it's easiest to test on one that's not broadcasting)
   Watch the CPU and memory usage. You'll see the core nearly max out and the memory consumtion will grow rapidly (9gb+ very quickly)

   You can also reproduce the issue on a live stream.. You'll see the play button constantly toggle between pause and play

   You can confirm the issue is with Autoplay by enabling autoplay and repeating these tests.

   I will not do any more testing on this issue. I have a very low opinion of twitch because of how bad your support is and I am not your employee.

   You can leave it broken for all I care but if you watch the network tab in Dev Tools, you'll see why it might be to your advantage to fix it...

7. Video quality ratcheting down when stream hopping

   Every time you switch to another stream, it selects the highest quality that isn’t higher than what you were watching last time. One moment you’re watching 1440p60 9 Mbps HEVC, completely stably with low latency. Next you hop into a 720p30 stream. Fine, the source is what it is. Then you open a 1080p60 stream. You get 480p30 because 1080p60 and 720p60 are both more than 720p30. Completely uncalled for when your actual selection was 1440p60.

   Auto quality is no solution. Its bandwidth estimation keeps having downward spikes. It may say 135 Mbps which is still an underestimate but plenty. Suddenly it jumps to 4 Mbps, 2 Mbps, 700 kbps, apparently driven to decrease further every time it selects a lower quality. It will often bottom out at 360p30 or whatever the minimum is. It may stay there for a few seconds or a minute before instantly jumping back up to 88 or 200 Mbps, repeating the cycle. There’s never an actual hitch, just constantly cycling quality. Manual source quality runs fine.

   macOS Tahoe Safari and Firefox seem more susceptible to the auto quality issue than Windows 10 Firefox. Windows has spikes but doesn’t drop as low as often. 18 Mbps, whatever, still enough. It does still drop lower at times. I saw 160p30 just now. The first issue of manual quality ratcheting down is universal, affecting everything identically.

   Up to a few months ago I didn’t have issues with this. You’d generally stay on source, certainly never 480p30 or lower for no reason. It’s driving me nuts that I keep having to select source quality manually.

9. Incorrect clip offset and duration

   This is an old bug where the clip's start and end points are shifted relative to what is selected in the editor. The client sends correct offset/duration data but on the server side the fractional part is discarded.

   Steps to reproduce:
   - Open the clip editor.
   - Move the start point to the very beginning of the timeline and then shift it slightly forward by less than one second.
   - Extend the clip to one minute and slightly move the end point, for example, to a clip duration of 59.9 seconds.

   Result:
   - The resulting clip has a duration of exactly 59.0 seconds and starts exactly at the beginning.

   Previously, it was possible to create a clip with some margin and then edit it to get an exact clip. However, after a recent editor update, the editor always loads the original 1.5 minute segment, making it impossible to create a precise clip. Additionally, the API shows the correct clip duration, and if you reopen the editor the preview will be correct. This means the bug affects the final render only.

10. Issue with rewind while stream in background

    Since rewind has been implemented, if I keep the stream playing in the background and then I go back to the stream, it "rewinds" of like a second and so I hear the streamer saying the same thing twice in a row.
    I think this may be due to the feature on Chrome that decreases the quality of the stream while it's not focused to reduce bandwidth, but then it bugs out for a second while going back to the maximum quality.

14. Random automatic pauses

    You need to fix the issue that streams randomly stop playing and go on pause.

    If i press on "play" it plays for 10-50 seconds and then pauses itself again. It's unbearbly annoying.

    It is not an issue that only I have, I have seen streamers be on twitch and experience the same issue.

    **** I even have Twitch Turbo and the stream just pauses itself.

    I found out that if I delete cookies and website data, it works fine again.

    But that cannot be a long term solution.

    Please fix! :(

15. Twitch layout and chrome favorites bar : downscale blur

    When watching a 1080p stream on a 1080p display using Twitch in Google Chrome with the default view layout and the favorites bar visible of Chrome, the video is actually downscaled from 1920×1080 to 1340×751 — not 1340×754.
    This seemingly small difference makes the stream noticeably blurrier due to less optimal downscaling.

    By hiding Chrome’s favorites bar, the stream displays at 1340×754, which results in a much sharper image thanks to a more precise scaling ratio.

    On Firefox, because the favorites bar and top menu take up less vertical space, the stream is displayed at 1340×754 by default, resulting in better image quality without adjustments.

    I can provide screenshot examples showing how 1340×754 looks significantly sharper and clearer than 1340×751.

18. Проблема со скачиванием клипов

    При скачивании клипов с твича, независимо от того, пользуетесь ли вы встроенной в твич кнопкой скачки или какими либо сторонними сервисами, для скачивания, появляются ощутимые проблемы с дорожками. Причем проблема в разных плеерах проявляется по разному. К примеру стандартный плеер виндовс отлично воспроизводит аудиодорогу, но видео заикается и лагает до конкретного момента, а при воспроизведении через сони вегас, наоборот видеодорога воспроизводится идеально, а у звуковой просто нет начала и весь звук сдвинут на несколько секунд. Как решить эту тему я пока не придумал, кроме как непосредственно редактировать каждый клип в любом видеоредакторе, сразу дам совет, для таких случаев лучше либо переклиповывать чужие клипы с примерно +5 секунд в начале, либо изначально клиповать с более затяжным началом, чтобы было место под монтаж

    bonjour, ça fait 2 soirs d 'affilé, que vers 20h30 mon stream lag enormement et je dois le couper, alors que toute mes connexions sont bonne, les mise a jour aussi... je ne comprends pas pourquoi??? reduisez vous les connection quand on est en live depuis plusieurs heures? pouvez vous regler le soucis svp ! c est vraiment contraignant je perds des viewers. cordialement
