Increase the bitrate for source quality.
I understand people can't watch HQ streams because they have low internet speed but it's not fair for those who can.Games have a lot of foliage which makes the game look very bad.

currently the bitrate limit is 6k which isnt enough for 1440p streams
while on youtube they allow streams at higher bitrates at 1440p -

Honestly, its 2022, Increased bitrate caps need to come in. 6kbps (8k unofficially) is not enough for 1080p in 2022. Allow 20k. It's then down to the creator to decide on the quality.

halfway through 2021, still stuck at 6k bitrate. trying to stream 1080p60fps and its blurry as **** any time any serious movement happens in game, not losing anything to rendoring or encoding lag so its just the bitrate at that point. I have the internet to and I would love to stream at more so it would look better

yep i need bitrate up to 9000+ for stream with warframe and the stream crashed because of this, they must increase the limit ... i saw this post is from 2019 but we are now in 2021 and they are still limited to 6000 bitrate wtf... i will move to youtube if they dont do a thing.

It would be nice to at least have a higher upload bitrate starting from Affiliate. For example Partner 10000, Affiliate 8000 & newbies 6000

Please Remove the Bitrate Cap / Lock of 6000 so that we can Stream in Source Quality or Maybe in Higher Resolution like 1440p / 2160p. On YouTube it is possible to stream at a Higher Resolution and Quality... Think Twitch can also go this Step. So the Streamer with Good Connection have no need to downscale their stream to become a good Video Quality.

This is starting to become more of a problem as games leap into the next generation of graphics. 6000 bitrate can barely make a 720p60fps stream look decent if you're playing Serious Sam 4. It's a blurry mess sometimes, even with decent compression running, due to all the high detail and fast paced animations. Games that have high definition assets especially are a pain. 1080p60fps looks pretty gross at the current bitrate limit. People now want to move up to 1440p 144fps, and there is just no way that is possible with the current bitrate limitations. Suggestions to lower the fps to 30 for "better quality" are pretty weak when 60fps is now starting to be seen as "dated". Twitch needs to step up in this area.
I have heard the next step would be 8k bitrate. I honestly would let users who have access to transcoding go up to 10k, maybe more. I heard some services offer up to 20k. I would also suggest giving transcoding to everyone if it is raised to that degree.
I cant possibly know why Twitch doesn't want to do either of these things yet, as there have been requests for over half a decade it seems, but they ought to consider it, to remain competitive as a platform. Else it just will look obsolete. The only other option I can think of is just using a better encoder, if they do not want to take on the costs of raising the bitrate.

Recently, all platforms, even those that do not have game content, have increased the maximum bitrate to 52,000. I understand that the platform is loaded with the number of broadcasts. But now most games have very clear details and the quality of broadcasts with 8,000kbps spoils the impression of the game.
2020, everyone has the opportunity to watch and stream in better quality.
I understand that the twitch servers are already loaded, but raising the bitrate to at least 22,000 (for 1440p) for partners will greatly push the platform forward, (it will be very nice to watch modern games in good quality, but at the moment this is only possible on YouTube) even if you have to update the servers,
The platform will make a big step forward in terms of both revenue and viewershipMoreover, the most popular games are very fast games and shooters.
War zone
Fortnite
CS and others
And the second category of games in the top by views is very detailed games for which such a bitrate spoils the picture.I know that, perhaps, such proposals have already been made, but I ask you to publish them, because I described it more clearly and more urgently for 2020.

That's have been asked from 2015, I'm shocked.
Let's upgrade guys.
Now many streamers and viewer have optic fiber and can push bitrate to stream clean 1080p.
Most of market monitor and phone are now 720p 1080p or more.
480p is so obsolete.Need to work with x265 and improve quality/filesize ratio.
Let's upgrade to get overall better quality content.
PLEASE

When we aren't allowed to lower the quality on small streamers, NO, do NOT do this.

Mixer has a current bitrate limit of more than 10,000 and YouTube has no bitrate limit. When will the bitrate limit be increased from the current 6000 to at least 10000? How does Twitch want to remain qualitatively competitive in the future?

As far as bad foliage goes, that isn't the bitrate's fault. It's the streamer's. Fact of the matter is, the 3500 upload cap, whether intentionally or not, is optimal for a 480p stream. If you want the stream to look better, tell the streamer to stop trying to squeeze 720p30 (or 720p60, makes little difference, other than having the encoder work twice as hard, perhaps leaving less CPU to improve image quality) into 3500. 3500 supports a really, really nice-looking 480p video, even at 60fps.

The standards are actually not so great for someone with lower internet speed. The streamer may be into games for the 16-bit generation, which look fine at their native resolution of around 320x240, but also run at a native 60fps. Granted, 'source' is all a non-partnered streamer gets, and they are free to set their source as 240p, 60fps. This is in fact the only thing that really puts twitch or hitbox ahead of youtube. A youtube streamer who wants 60fps must also be able to support 720p.
TL;DR: standards bad. options good.

Please don't that will only make the "LOW" quality setting go also up on the Bitrate resulting on a lot of people not been able to watch the stream.
Sadly Twitch doesn't have good speed to some places and even when we have a good internet, we can't streams other than in Low or Med.
Unless Twitch goes back to the "360p" or "480p" fixed quality options, I don't think its a good idea.

You guys don't understand how things work on the server end. I don't either, but htbx for example has a different infastructure to support 1080p60. Twitch may not be able to. Seems their source is 720p60. High is 720p30, med 480p30, and low 360p30. Mobile idk, audio only is self-explanatory

I totally agree! Got 180/5 up/down and must still look at 720p Streams. Why is Twitch not going with the time?
