I am also having this issue with Surfshark, and I am not sure how to fix it. I have tried whitelisting many IP addresses and domains related to Twitch and its chat functions, and sometimes it works.. But sometimes it does not. I am not sure what the factor is.

This is starting to become more of a problem as games leap into the next generation of graphics. 6000 bitrate can barely make a 720p60fps stream look decent if you're playing Serious Sam 4. It's a blurry mess sometimes, even with decent compression running, due to all the high detail and fast paced animations. Games that have high definition assets especially are a pain. 1080p60fps looks pretty gross at the current bitrate limit. People now want to move up to 1440p 144fps, and there is just no way that is possible with the current bitrate limitations. Suggestions to lower the fps to 30 for "better quality" are pretty weak when 60fps is now starting to be seen as "dated". Twitch needs to step up in this area.
I have heard the next step would be 8k bitrate. I honestly would let users who have access to transcoding go up to 10k, maybe more. I heard some services offer up to 20k. I would also suggest giving transcoding to everyone if it is raised to that degree.
I cant possibly know why Twitch doesn't want to do either of these things yet, as there have been requests for over half a decade it seems, but they ought to consider it, to remain competitive as a platform. Else it just will look obsolete.The only other option I can think of is just using a better encoder, if they do not want to take on the costs of raising the bitrate.

Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads! These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Upvoted. The current system is much too strict and needs to have way more options for different types of streams. I currently find the system heavily disruptive, and it often plays over my content I don't want people missing.
The sheer frequency of ads I fear is driving people away.
I have tried to compensate for this by taking actual BRB's while they play, because they are so frequent, but this also then devalues my subscribers who pay to not see ad breaks. I feel like the current ad system is at odds with how I stream fundamentally.
