Keep Moments
Moments is a feature that Twitch released as a Beta to a handful of creators. Whenever something cool happened in your stream, you could give out a "Moment" to those who were there to witness it. Twitch just announced they are discontinuing it as of October. I'm writing this to ask you to reconsider.
The Moment was a clip that was created when you gave the command, and allowed for some minor editing. Anyone who claimed the moment would also receive a badge, and the more moments you claimed, the more your badge evolved over time. You could even click on someone's badge to see what moments they were there for.
As a creator, I was part of the Beta for Moments. This was an INCREDIBLE tool for engaging my audience. Most of the time, the Moments were for small little silly things that happened, but it allowed for my audience members who maybe couldn't afford to sub or cheer to showcase their loyalty to the stream by having a badge that said "I'm here for all the moments." The irony of the strength of this feature was that it wasn't really for "The Moment" you were there, but for combination of all the small little moments you got to share.
Growing on Twitch is about engaging your audience and giving them reasons to come back. Moments allowed viewers who tuned in for the day the chance at "being there" for something cool. It created an opportunity for people to stick around more and watch more of my content.
Anytime something cool happened my audience would say "MOMENT?," and so much so that I made an emote for the very thing. The emote ranked #1 in both my channel and outside my channel since it's creation for me.
It's failure as a feature is rooted in
- The Beta was too limited. Not enough people who could benefit from it were given the chance to use it.
- There was not a lot of push from Twitch to help creators understand why the feature is so good.
- The feature needed more feedback to shape it into something truly special.
Imagine having the badge and also attaching an Emote slot to Certain Tiers. Imagine having more options to really edit the clips so that you could really encompass the Moment. Imagine having MORE MOMENTS to give out so you could be more free with giving them out.
The reason it was cut was "limited use by the community" and that they would strive to "Create features that bring value to streamers"
Moments IS that feature. The badge is such a cool function. You don't need to make it compete with Featured Clips, in fact just having them on the viewer's profile under the badge is enough.
Please reconsider axing this and please actually reach out for feedback to those of us who get access to these Beta Features.

/chant RIP moments
In all seriousness, I love moments. They're an amazing tool to interact with stream as a viewer and I hope Twitch will reverse this decision.

I for one am a big fan of moments. I love it when something funny or cool happens and then just seeing a flood of “moment?” chats start coming in. It helps with engagement and general viewership in my opinion. Like personally, I always tried to be at streams more often when I know that there are moments left in the month. Plus I get big entertainment value when I view my moments badge and remember some of the best clips of a stream.

Getting rid of moments is not a good idea, they are a great and simple mechanic to get people engaged in a channel even if they cannot afford a subscription

"Limited use by the community", says company that did not give this feature to the entire community. I've been waiting nineteen months for my turn to give them out.

I would've liked to have had access to Moments. It seems like an easy way to encourage continued viewership and a fun way to collect memories and highlights.

Maybe Moments would have seen more use if you'd expanded the experiment. I love em.
Rethink this please, I would hate to see a good idea die off because of "limited adoption."

The Moments feature has been a lot of fun and I think it would be a shame to get rid of it.

Moments is such an incredible feature for streams and building engagement. There is always great excitement when something big happens on stream and it could potentially be a moment. Chat goes wild asking for moment and then celebrating when they get one. It is such a fun feature as a viewer and great tool for a streamer to use for engagement and growth. Taking this away would be a huge mistake.

You could say the moment feature are the moments we made along the way.

Moments are a great feature. I've seen more interaction in twitch chat with these moments than any other feature. What we need is it being rolled our to more streamers.

In my opinion, this was one of the best features twitch has added lately. Not only that, but it's also one of my community's favorite features and became such a big staple on the stream that anytime something happened they would spam "moment". It was an amazing way to have people engage in the community and also want to be around for that hype moment. I feel as if this feature was very limited to certain streamers and wasn't given a fair chance. It would be sad to see this go. It truly is one of the best new features on twitch.

Moments are an incredible feature and a lot of fun for me as a viewer. It has been an enjoyable additional way to engage with the streamer and contribute to the back-and-forth between streamer and chat room. Not only that, but seeing evidence of your bearing witness to Moment-worthy events in the shape of a badge is a neat little piece of flair that I think contributes to the sense of community around a streamer. It has also been nice to click on my Moments badge to relive moments past, or on others' badges to see any moments for which I might not have been present. Please don't get rid of our Moments!

As someone who primarily lurks and often feels too shy to engage with chat, moments were a really engaging part of the stream for me, as I felt like I was participating by being a part of the moment without having to add to the chat copy pasta. It's also just fun to see the streamer and chat barter for moments. It's a good feature that should stay and be expanded on, not removed.

the streamers who were able to capitalize on this feature often did so in a genuinely fun way. most people never got a chance to use it, nor did twitch try to help people understand why it was good

Moments are so great! Missing a moment made me want to close youtube and join the stream more often. It was always fun to amp up hype moments and wonder if they might be the next moment. As an accessible way for everyone to engage with and show their loyalty to the streamer it was super special. Axing them so early seems like an obvious mistake when they are such a unique tool for streamers.
