Keep Moments
Moments is a feature that Twitch released as a Beta to a handful of creators. Whenever something cool happened in your stream, you could give out a "Moment" to those who were there to witness it. Twitch just announced they are discontinuing it as of October. I'm writing this to ask you to reconsider.
The Moment was a clip that was created when you gave the command, and allowed for some minor editing. Anyone who claimed the moment would also receive a badge, and the more moments you claimed, the more your badge evolved over time. You could even click on someone's badge to see what moments they were there for.
As a creator, I was part of the Beta for Moments. This was an INCREDIBLE tool for engaging my audience. Most of the time, the Moments were for small little silly things that happened, but it allowed for my audience members who maybe couldn't afford to sub or cheer to showcase their loyalty to the stream by having a badge that said "I'm here for all the moments." The irony of the strength of this feature was that it wasn't really for "The Moment" you were there, but for combination of all the small little moments you got to share.
Growing on Twitch is about engaging your audience and giving them reasons to come back. Moments allowed viewers who tuned in for the day the chance at "being there" for something cool. It created an opportunity for people to stick around more and watch more of my content.
Anytime something cool happened my audience would say "MOMENT?," and so much so that I made an emote for the very thing. The emote ranked #1 in both my channel and outside my channel since it's creation for me.
It's failure as a feature is rooted in
- The Beta was too limited. Not enough people who could benefit from it were given the chance to use it.
- There was not a lot of push from Twitch to help creators understand why the feature is so good.
- The feature needed more feedback to shape it into something truly special.
Imagine having the badge and also attaching an Emote slot to Certain Tiers. Imagine having more options to really edit the clips so that you could really encompass the Moment. Imagine having MORE MOMENTS to give out so you could be more free with giving them out.
The reason it was cut was "limited use by the community" and that they would strive to "Create features that bring value to streamers"
Moments IS that feature. The badge is such a cool function. You don't need to make it compete with Featured Clips, in fact just having them on the viewer's profile under the badge is enough.
Please reconsider axing this and please actually reach out for feedback to those of us who get access to these Beta Features.

Per favore non togliete la possibilità di usare "Moments". Era davvero una bella idea che i creativi potevano usare a piacimento per fidelizzare il pubblico. Ne ho accumulati diversi e sono ricordi indelebili che vorrei mantenere. Grazie.

Moments as it is, is such a poorly implemented, half finished feature. Yet it still enhances engagement and community in a way no other feature does. And twitch wants to replace it with featured clips, which is just a glorified way to favorite clips. Do the developers and product owners even use twitch?
For the love of god keep moments.

Unfair of Twitch to criticize moments when they did a horrible job rolling them out to all channels. Many creators have found cool ways to integrate them into chat. Again, no thanks to Twitch.

Not a feature I'm well aware of, but definitely a feature I can get behind. I think this speaks both to the weaknesses it was released with, and the strength by which even its very concept holds. Why would it not be something I want to attain? Interaction I want to utilize? Moments encourage viewers to be more actively engaged in their streamers, and get rewarded on not just their time idle AFK, but their time engaged with the content and aware of how important things may be to the streamer, or to the community. Viewer interaction is rare and hard to reproduce. Moments encourage this much more than most other Twitch features do.

Moments are my favorite thing added to twitch since channel point predictions. Both of these features foster chat to streamer engagement in a fun and positive way that results in a more exciting and active viewer experience. In addition, moments enable viewers who do not have the means to subscribe to a channel to have a badge that shows that they are a dedicated viewer of the channel with proof that they engage with the stream often as opposed to the current "followage" that gives no indication of hours watched or frequency of viewership. Deleting Moments would not only significantly impact a viewers ability to engage with a streamer and vice-versa but would also remove an important means for viewers to express themselves from lurkers to subscribers alike.
In conclusion, keep moments alive and continue to improve the feature in the future. It has and will continue to drastically improve the viewing experience.

The channels that actively use moments to celebrate/highlight big events feel much more like a community. Maybe start a campaign or tutorial series to try to bolster participation before stripping the feature altogether. I feel like moments add so much to channels and removing it removes part of the community engagement that a lot of streamers and viewers have come to love. Please consider other options and circle back if the participation does not reach the desired expectations.
Thank you!

Moments are such a fun feature and just adds the cherry on top when the streamer pulls off something amazing. Seeing this feature go would just drive away engagement and take away that extra special feeling when you actually WERE THERE.

Moments are a cool way to feel engaged and noticed in a stream, especially if you aren't a super frequent chatter! There is no downsides to keeping this unique feature.

Moments are a REALLY fun feature that have turned into a multi-community meme as well, making a fun way to bond and joke around while also acting as a reminder of fun happenings in the stream's history you were there for. Please do not remove them, and instead continue to polish and improve the feature, and roll it out to everyone. It has SO much potential.

Removing this feature and adding more buttons to "hype chat" is so ******* brain-dead and out of touch. Greedy greedy gremlins in charge. I sometimes wonder how people who make these decisions can rest at night knowing they suck this much.

I have seen the engagement moments can drive when streamers use effectively. As a viewer it was exciting, and as a streamer I was looking forward to unlocking this feature.
