Change Rules into Welcome to Chat / a Chat Splash Screen.
(I deleted my old post because it was hard to understand)
A Welcome message that shows up every time you enter a channel's chat. Not when you click to say something like it does now, but when you first see the chat.
It would include Rules but be more welcoming and flexible.
Examples:
Headline: "Chat Rules"
Body: (Usual chat rules as they are currently)
Or:
Headline: "AVAST! YE SCURVY KNAVE!"
Body: "He, she, ye, or they who dare cross this rope bridge to join us aboard the ship shall be cursed if they refuse to follow THESE RULES..."
Or:
Headline: "Hi! I'm Jory!"
Body: "And I'm still learning makeup, so be kind okay? Ask my mods if you want to get in the Zoom, and don't flood the chat because I'm dyslexic and it takes me a minute!"
Or:
Headline: "Infogeek Text Adventures Presents:"
Body: "You're in a maze of Twitchy passages, all alike... in front of you are some RULES. They read:"
Ok I'm having too much fun. I could do this all daaay.
Thank you, ever a fan.

Sadly no update, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for reuploading if you were concerned the first post was too confusing! Means the world when people clarify <3

It could also be used to explain what's going on in the stream at the moment.
Having a welcome message would allow, above or below the Rules...
"Today, we aren't playing music but we're making soup for our bandleader's birthday, feel free to suggest ingredients in chat! Use !soup for a list of options! Happy Birthday Lisa!"
Currently we smush that kind of information into the stream title, and we might use a bot to repeatedly spam the chat with this info. IMO both are useful but this would be a big add.
