[Test] First Participation Highlight in Creator/Mod Chat
Some creators will notice a new first-time chatter highlight is now available in chat. This feature lets creators and their mods identify and welcome newcomers in chat to their community when appropriate. The highlight is only available to creators and their mods in chat and is not displayed to the rest of your community. This feature is in a limited release, and we will monitor feedback before making it more widely available.
Creators and their mods are enrolled in the limited release automatically, and they can toggle the feature on and off in chat settings under "First Time Chat Highlight."
We'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions here. We look forward to hearing your feedback!
We are happy to announce that the First-Time Chatter Highlight is now available to all creators and mods! You can learn more about this feature at the below link. Thank you all for your feedback!

this is so amazing! my community keeps growing and even though I try to treat everyone the same new or old, it helps me recognize a new face and give them a warm welcome! this should for sure be released across the entire platform.

This has been a wonderful feature for recognizing those who are new to the chat. I think it's ready for full release!

As a viewer I can see this being useful for streamers and mods but it would be good if viewers could show their preference not to have attention drawn to them. Also I often join new streams through raids, sometimes as one of several hundred people, and wonder how useful it would be to see a large number of raid messages as first time chat messages in a short period of time

I can see how people with social anxiety would hate this feature, but on the other side the amount of anxiety and stress as a streamer is real too. Seeing people not chatting, but viewership up can lead to streamers getting into their own heads about their content. So being able to say hello to new viewers like this is amazing I feel! If the viewer does not appreciate the callout, they have the option to leave. The streamer on the other hand does not, so this give an advantage to small streamers to get to know potential new viewers to their community!!! :D
