[Test] First Participation Highlight in Creator/Mod Chat
Some creators will notice a new first-time chatter highlight is now available in chat. This feature lets creators and their mods identify and welcome newcomers in chat to their community when appropriate. The highlight is only available to creators and their mods in chat and is not displayed to the rest of your community. This feature is in a limited release, and we will monitor feedback before making it more widely available.
Creators and their mods are enrolled in the limited release automatically, and they can toggle the feature on and off in chat settings under "First Time Chat Highlight."
We'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions here. We look forward to hearing your feedback!
We are happy to announce that the First-Time Chatter Highlight is now available to all creators and mods! You can learn more about this feature at the below link. Thank you all for your feedback!

So far, everything works very well. It's easy to spot new viewers and ask, for example, how they got to us.

I love this feature. It allows me to give an extra warm welcome to new chatters! Super helpful because in the past when I didn't recognize a username I would have to click their name to see if they were following.

This is an interesting feature. I as a streamer am happy to be alerted new comers chatting for the first time so I can give them a proper welcome. On the other hand, as a viewer I wonder if I have the choice to opt in or out. I can see some viewers might be even more hesitant about participating in chat if they get the spotlight like that. I tend to lurk in channels and I wouldn't enjoy being called out like that if I post a message in chat.

That's the last thing I want happening if I decide to participate in chat, and would only lead me to do so even less than before.

I enjoy it very much! It helped me to see new people in the stream better then looking at the notification list, making it more dynamic!

I personally found this feature very useful and helpful. I like the fact that my Mods can also have this feature to welcome in new chatters. This is a great way for the admin of a stream to engage with new people better. People are constantly changing their twitch name so I have a hard time knowing if someone is a first timer or been back before. I also can't remember everyone and automatically know if they are new or not. I find this feature to be a great add and would recommend it to stay.
