[MERGED] Bring back colored /me chat messages + Update the /me command to color chat messages FOR MODS/BROADCASTER ROLES ONLY
Or at least give streamers the authority to enable or disable it. But the ENTIRE point was how it stood out with color. Plain black with italics just renders it useless.
Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

The colour emphases on /me messsages was perfect for highlighting bot in chat. With this change, they're now almost indistinguishable from any other chat message. Rendering bot messages nigh on useless: as they're lost; like tears in the rain.
Please revert this change. Or, at the very least, make /me messages privileged.
Failing that you might as well remove /me messages completely.

Someone at Twitch HQ must have really been feeling the pressure to justify their job to come out with this one , make it optional if you must but changing the way it is seems kinda pointless

This was an awful change. It's so much harder to read italicised text, and bot commands no longer stand out in busy chats. Please revert!

The colour highlight was important for moderators and bots to emphasise messages in the chat; the italics make them disappear into nothing. It should be available as an option for streamers to set their channel so that moderators can use /me to write in colour.

Just leave the "/me" usage for the channel owner and mods for the channel.

Nobody asked for this change. 90% of all Bot Commands use /me for colored messages...

The issues is also that the italic style is really difficult for people with dyslexia as well, meanwhile the coloured text is more helpful to read :/

Do you want your platform to slowly die? Cuz this is how you make that happen.

this new change actually sucks, who asked for it.

The text chat box is now just a wall of uniformly coloured text. In addition, italicised text is often hard for the neurodiverse to be able to read. With this "improvement" it feels like a slap in the face with Twitch telling those with dyslexia and other text-impairments that we don't matter.

Bring back the colored me messages without the italics. Why fix what wasn't broken to begin with!

As so many streamers I have my bot chat set up to use /me, so that those messages stand out. This change makes this useless!

Let's recognize this for what it is. PURE laziness.
If this was really about limiting trolls and fake donoations, Instead of removing a feature that actually has some benefits, Twitch could you know...put EFFORT into working on enhancing AutoMod?
They can tell when the message was stylized and they can then do a check for the message containing "donat*"(Donate, Donating, donated, etc.) Automod can then outright block it or allow mods to allow it if it is a false positive.
There was an actual solution for this. Just requires Twitch to put in a little thought and more than 5 minutes of work. If I can do this with a script via a chatbot Twitch can implement this into their site/automod.

And the award for worst feature 2021 goes to.....Twitch.
Please give the streamer or indeed the viewer the opportunity to choose whether or not to have this in their chat.
Thank you.
