[MERGED] Bring back colored /me chat messages + Update the /me command to color chat messages FOR MODS/BROADCASTER ROLES ONLY
Or at least give streamers the authority to enable or disable it. But the ENTIRE point was how it stood out with color. Plain black with italics just renders it useless.
Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

Visibility of bot messages is completly lost in chat. We need at least the option to choose betwenn color/italic.

I am seeing a lot of people saying "Please just leave it for the Mods and Streamer of the channel."
I would like to point out that this is the LEAST they could do and something that would require the least amount of time to reimplement.
However, considering this is a change that should have never been activated in the first place we should want more. If it's really about trolls, Twitch should do MORE to combat them. Not this. Do not remove /me.

please please pretty please o.o it would be perfectly fine as an option for the streamers to tick on or off.

Italics is a known problem for people with dyslexia. Like always you’ve alienated a portion of your user base.

This was very useful for the Chatbots to make Messages more visible in a Full Chat. Please bring it back

I don't get why they not just implemented "has donated xyz" in combination with /me to their already existing automod tool... it can't be THAT hard (since the pattern is always the same or extremely similar). x3
Anyway: Please bring it back... :C

Absolutely agree. On the channel i moderate on, we use the color option for important mod announcements. It helps people see useful info they are looking for. Just give creators the option to choose the roles who can use it and everybody is happy.

No one has asked for this and no one will, the feature was working as indented and the current changes made messages harder to read.

This!!
It is useful for mods or bots to have their messages highlighted!
It makes chat more lively when there is something to celebrate.
Please give us a toggle to setup who and how /me can be used! Or just change it back until then. -

I, along with many other streamers, am severely sight impaired and cannot read and process italics very well, even with the font size as large as it will go. Please make it optional for every streamer. Thank you.

Just let the streamer decide if they want to switch it to the italics in their chat.

This was SO USEFUL to highlight my bot messages since there’s no other formatting available. It was the only way to make it stand out. Please bring it back!!

A new low for twitch changes. Please change it back and give us ACTUAL OPTIONS for our own chats.

When you nerf something into obscurity where it doesn't look any different from normal text you might as well remove the whole feature!!!

This change have been the most nonsensical and irrelevant when there are so many more issues with people with names that are racist, hateful or discriminating minorities and SO many other issues that should be dealt with INSTEAD of this. what is next.. the removal of chat because people use it to abuse and harass streamers and viewers ?

Please give us at least the option to enable or disable colored /me messages for our channel. Any maybe an option to restrict it to roles (sub, vip, mod, editor, streamer)
