[MERGED] Bring back colored /me chat messages + Update the /me command to color chat messages FOR MODS/BROADCASTER ROLES ONLY
Or at least give streamers the authority to enable or disable it. But the ENTIRE point was how it stood out with color. Plain black with italics just renders it useless.
Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

Please bring this feature back. As a mod, this is terrible!

Please bring it back. If people are getting confused about a 'fake donation', they should configure their bot back to default. It will tell them what they got in an alert on stream (and you can add a sound to it as well! *Blows your mind*) and in chat... It's not confusing at all.. At least bgring /me coloured back for mods and VIP's

Italics are INCREDIBLY hard to read. The colors were great for my bot/mod messages. Please bring this back

Please make this an option the user can turn on and off. It's impossible to now read chat all in italics. I have horrible dyslexia and the color made it easy to pick people out in chat when they wanted to stand out. Bring back color

/me messages in Italic do not standout, are much less readable and less ACCESSIBLE. I am sorry to be that vulgar, but this change is absolutely ********* and should be reverted as fast as possible.

Give us back the color /me! No one asked for it to be changed. Italics are so much harder to read as a streamer. Why was this changed at all?

As a streamer with dyslexia italics used for an entire message makes it nearly impossible to read. I should not have to advertise not to use /me so I can read it.

Twitch... come on now... I have dyslexia and the colored text was WAY easier for me to see as both a streamer on my channel and as a mod in others' channels. You explained why you did this, but it still makes absolutely no sense. Why not, at least, make this an option for streamers to choose if they want this or not individually. Those of us with vision issues, be it dyslexia or a screen/color visibility issue, really appreciated and need the colored text. Do better helping us rather than hindering us, please.

Several reasons this is necessary
1. Italic font is actually more difficult to read for those with dyslexia
2. Read chat as a streamer was MUCH easier to have bot messages separated -

How are we supposed to tell what a /me message is if it's not easily identifiable by color?? Do any of you actually stream????

Why 'fix' something that wasn't broken in the first place?
Colour for our stream bots is essential to tell sysem messages apart, italics means things get completely lost in a busy chat.

Ok linda listen, instead of forcing stupid changes on streamers, focus on adding options for streamers and they can pick for themselves. If a streamer decides he doesn't want the /me command in his stream he should have the option to disable it. Also if a streamer wants it, he should have the option to enable it.
Problem solved, everyone's happy! -

bring back color or allow individual accounts to choose between what they want to see similar to "readable colors". its already difficult to follow a busy chat.
