We would definitely like to give Mods a way to communicate with each other more easily, and are starting to explore implementation options.

This is a HUGE problem!
I'm noting that this suggestion has been on here for TWO YEARS now.
We just had this exact situation -- a user was banned, they came back with another account that was marked "Ban Evader - Restricted" with a bunch of weirdo messages that never made it to chat.
So, seeing the weirdo message in the restricted panel, Mods banned that account, too.
Then streamer gets an unban request. Checks the chat log, and there's nothing, so streamer unbans.
Now, creepy guy is back, and we have a worse situation.

That's the problem, though. Streamers absolutely want to be able to manage access to their channels. But, streamers don't know how to do this because the roles are confusing.
Maybe I wasn't clear at describing the issue that I keep encountering.
In the world of online content creation, the word "editor" clearly means "video editor." Clearly. "Editor" is already part of the content creation lexicon in this way. If you ask any streamer "do you have an editor" they will answer something like "yeah, [this person] edits my videos for me." Clearly, this is what the word "editor" means - video editor.
Streamers don't understand the Twitch roles. They are confusing. I have to keep explaining the roles.
Streamers I work with don't understand why their mods can't raid out, or unpublish VODs. And rightfully so -- those are tasks related to stream administration and management, not video editing. And the only role Twitch offers for admin functions is "moderator."
So, under the current situation, streamers (that I know) are frustrated that they don't have the level of control over their channels that they'd like.
TL;DR - Basically, the roles are confusing, and it's in Twitch's best interests to make changes to clear up the confusion. Using terminology that aligns with the industry and function of the roles. This will better enable streamers to know how to distribute access to their streams and content, and effectively manage their channels. ;)
