1. Manual Chatter Verification

In rare but real cases, users may be unable to successfully verify their accounts using a phone number.
This has been happening to members of a community I am moderating where a group of known users transferred phone numbers from their old Twitch accounts. This is causing them to be unable to chat, even with the "First time chatter must have a verified phone number." option toggled to off.

   Current State:
If user Kappa has transferred their phone number from an inactive account Keepo, they may encounter issues with phone verification on channels with even loose phone verification settings. I am not completely sure what's causing this but I've gotten more than 5 requests to allow them to chat.

   Current Workaround:
I gather impacted users, toggle the entire phone verification to OFF and ask them to type a message in chat. Once I confirm that the messages have been posted, I go back to the moderation settings and re-enable "Chatters without a phone number must have accounts older than X" and "Chatters without a phone number must have followed for more than X" options to ON as previously. This somehow tricks the filters into allowing them to chat later, even if the "First-time chatters in my channel must have a verified phone number" option was disabled the entire time and is not enabled.

   Proposed Solution:
Implement a way to manually flag an account as trusted/verified. This would allow moderation/editors/streamers to allow chatters to engage even if there are some issues with the email or phone verification. This could also be made to bypass the minimum followage or account age settings in edge cases.
I am aware of the verification exemption settings but they are not sufficient at this moment.

   Thank you for reading,
   Aure

2. Suggestion Regarding Moderator Message Deletion Functionality

   Dear Twitch Team,

I would like to suggest an improvement to the current moderation tools available in Twitch chat.

At present, moderators are unable to delete their own messages, and removing other users' messages can be unnecessarily complicated, especially during fast-paced streams where quick action is critical.

   🔹 Proposed changes:

Allow moderators to delete their own messages – this would help correct mistakes or remove unintended content quickly.

Simplify the process for deleting messages from other users – for example, by adding a more accessible button or a hotkey within mod view.

Improving these tools would greatly enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of moderators, ultimately helping maintain a safe and well-managed chat environment.

   Thank you for your consideration.

3. confirmaton/warning before banning someone you follow

i typed "/b(tab)" instead of "/v(tab)", this meant an accidental ban instead of vip, and caused me to be silently unfollowed, when it shouldve either given the unfollow confirmation message like when the button is clicked normally, or give a link to let you unfollow if you happen to be following

in all cases, unfollowing shouldnt occur automatically or silently

6. poll

As an editor and moderator, I am requesting that /poll be turned into a pop out that does not darken the stream behind it. Ideally it should remain moveable as a pop out or open a dedicated space in mod view or even a new tab. Specifically, I need to see images in an art stream while making the poll to reference for choices. It forces itself right over the center of stream currently so I either have to screenshot one or more images to open and alt tab between or I have to open multiple instances of stream to see while creating the polls. I tried typing the poll choices in chat before starting to /poll but then it often gets darkened out too much to easily read depending on screen options. I discussed with some of our other mods and we all struggle with polls that take over the stream especially when limited to a single screen. I currently moderate for thestreamscribe art channel, but it also has interfered with other music stream polls where I moderated similarly when it covers the song list queue names. Thank you for considering any improvements to this function.

8. new idea on banz

I would rather have the following for banz

you can ban from 1 to 360 days
the person banned can still watch and see the chat where there chat box iz iz a countdown day hour minute second until they are unbanned they still collect channel points

with any one ban you can select buyout

if you select buyout the person can buy 1 gift sub + 1 sub to remove the ban

you can also select turn on the buy out in the chat box to show people how many times you bought out the bans beside your name

other feature you can put ban me az channel points to then buy out the ban

in the end any one can still watch and enjoy twitch even if they are banned instead of the black screen of death I think this iz the reason people are upset az it a fragile community toward the black out ban powerz

9. Twitch having an actual person review bans.

Many of us streamers, whether vtuber or live cam, have suffered with the fact that twitch relies too heavily on their auto moderation system.
A system that clearly is easily abused by those that dislike the streamer and can bar off people who've done nothing wrong, from getting partner.
We also have the other end where people who do deserve to get banned, aren't getting banned.

Many of us would like for either 1) twitch staff ( human, real life people) to go over the ban PROPERLY and THOROUGHLY, to make sure people aren't banned. 2) A means to get in contact with an ACTUAL HUMAN BEING on twitch staff to speak to them on the ban and not have an Ai do the job that clearly isn't being done correctly.

It's frustrating as all *, trying to navigate around to get in contact with someone to talk about ban's or just other things that sadly cannot be found within the " Help " section that has been provided.
Please implement an area on which you have live, human beings, helping out people with questions/issues. It'd make things a * of a lot easier for streamers/content creators.

10. Mod view needs a widget/button to view the latest poll popout, just like the buttons for channel point redemptions, predictions, etc.

Mods, Whispers, Reward Redemption Requests, Suspicious User Activity, Unban Requests, Predictions, Batch Reporting Tool... but no way to call up the poll popout with a click or two.

11. Add Mod Icons To Individual User Info Panel

Problem: It's common for chat to jump and a mod icon gets clicked by accident, causing unintended penalties for chatters. Turning off mod icons to prevent this leaves no good options for deleting or moderating comments quickly.

Suggested Solution: Add mod icons to the individual chat user info panel that opens when you click on their name in mod view chat. This pane doesn't scroll, so moderators can more easily target problematic comments and avoid misclicks.

13. Stop allowing antisemitism and terrorist propaganda

Ethan Klein made a video about the rampart antisemitism and terrorism glorification on your platform, I suggest you watch it (https://youtu.be/ZSUDHx-1_ww). Why haven't people like Hasan Piker and Frogan (whatever tf her real name is) been banned yet? Why are you banning people for asking questions about terrorism supporters on your platform? Why have you IP-banned the entire country of Israel? Why are you giving awards to antisemites? Why are you hiring known antisemites like Bridget Kyeremateng? What the **** are you doing?

14. Create and Manage Custom Moderator Roles with Configurable Permissions

Create and Manage Custom Moderator Roles with Configurable Permissions

Currently, the moderation system on Twitch is somewhat limited: you can only differentiate between regular moderators, editors, and VIPs, without much granularity. My idea is to allow content creators to create multiple roles in order to better organize their moderation team and assign each role specific permissions.
    Example Roles

Head Moderator: Has full access to all moderation features (ban, time-out, delete messages, edit stream title, etc.)
Moderator+: Possesses most permissions but may not have access to critical options (e.g., managing roles or configuring alerts).
Moderator: A standard role that can moderate chat (ban, time-out) but doesn’t have full access to channel settings.
Test Moderator: A temporary or limited role, with fewer permissions (e.g., can delete messages but cannot ban).

    Permissions Functionality

Ban/Timeout Permission: Enable or disable the ability to ban or time out users.
Access Logs Permission: Enable or disable access to message history.
Stream Title/Category Editing: Grant or restrict the ability to change channel information.
Special Commands Permission (e.g., !commercial, !raid, etc.).
Manage Other Moderators: Allow (or not) a moderator to manage the list of other moderators and their permissions.

The goal is to provide fine-grained control for creators so they can adapt their team according to the size of their community and the level of trust they have in each moderator.
Why This Is Valuable for Twitch

Improved Security: Each role is clearly defined, preventing overly broad access when you don’t want to give someone full authority.
Easier Channel Management: Hierarchizing the moderation team (Head Moderator > Moderator+ > Moderator > Test Moderator) provides a more professional team structure.
Encouraging New Moderators: By having a “Test” or “Junior” role, you can gradually train volunteers without immediately granting them all moderation powers.

    The Little “Extra”

Custom Role Badges: Each role could come with a unique badge visible in chat, identifying the Head Moderator, Moderator+, etc.
Progression System: One-click promotions from a lower role to a higher role over time.
Role History: An option to view a moderator’s role history for better oversight.

18. Change how "Viewer Reputation" works

It has come to my attention that mods can see the global data of how many times an user has been banned or timed out... And I can see how that can be easily abused or misleading, and I advise keeping those stats ONLY to staff, and ONLY take measures on those metrics on confirmed reports of spammers or clearly malicious individuals.

    Examples of cases:

    • Mob Mentality - Some groups of streamers may gang up on a target for petty reasons and ban them even if they have not been on their stream at all. Example: Viewer A has been banned by Streamer A for reasons (that may be or not valid), Streamer B, C, D, E, F, all of which are mods for Streamer A, bans Viewer A in their own channels, but some of those (let's say Streamer E and F) banned without knowing the context. That alone got 6 bans on Viewer A when it should have been 4 at most, and maybe what Viewer A did ONLY applies to the rules in Streamer A's channel, but not on B, C, D, E nor F.

    • "Just a joke" - Sometimes a streamer or mod bans (and unbans immediately after) or times out on a joke. I have seen this happen a lot, and is never of ill intent, it's always an inside joke in the community... But imagine what other mods will see when that user goes to another channel. They'll get the wrong impression... Example: Streamer A goes to Streamer B's channel and makes a silly joke, to which Streamer A asks his mods to ban him, and his mods are in on it that Streamer A and B are good with each other, so they ban and unban him immediately. Alternatively, asks to time them out for ten minutes. It will add strikes against Streamer A for... An inside joke. Of the group he is part of.

    • Accident - Oh my... How many times I've seen this happen... A streamer is, of course, busy focusing with his game; a mod is on alert because of bots and the like, and accidentally misclicks the mod tools and times out someone for ten minutes (and apologizes and rectifies that mistake immediately). But the damage is done though... One particular case involved a mod banning the viewer instead of a bot because he was trying to ban a bot but mistook the name when entering the command.

    • Joke Redeems and Commands - I've seen people set joke redeems or commands that involves the viewer willingly asking to be timed out. Although it's more often than not used for when the viewer slipped a backseat or spoiler and wants to erase their last message (particularly with the command "!seppuku" that some bots have, that allows the user to request the bot to time them out for 1 second and clear chat messages)

    • Misbehaving Moderator - Sometimes a moderator may go rogue because of someone they have a vendetta with, and they may more aggressively moderate a viewer and even be called out by the streamer a number of times to "take it easy" and "it is alright, they slipped", or "only a purge is enough". Sometimes the streamer may have enough and demote or ban the mod, but sometimes they keep the mod around because they are accustomed to them or they have no one that they can trust to take the mod position at that time.

In other words, as is, Twitch created a sort of echo chamber between moderators that allows for spread of misinformation about a viewer's behavior by neither allowing the viewer check AND contest those stats, nor having a context behind the actions that resulted in those bans and timeouts being recorded in a global manner. And even if context is provided, how can one tell the difference between "viewer was being a **" (serious) and "viewer was being a **" (joke)?

So yes, those metrics are harmful as is. Perhaps could have those metrics go down over time if the viewer behaves elsewhere, and not allow a ban to be lifted and reapplied to extend the metric through an exploit. Like let's say for example: Streamer A bans Viewer A, Viewer A has that strike against them for a month (the ban stays indefinite), after a month that specific ban's strike wears off, Streamer A is aware of the strike wearing off and then unbans and bans Viewer A to try to renew/extend the strike before the month wears off, but it doesn't extend because Viewer A hasn't interacted in Streamer A's channel since, so Streamer A has "no valid reason to renew the strike".
For Timeouts, that strike should wear off faster (based on the duration of the timeout).

Example: Viewer A has… more

20. Internal Error

I'm trying to report a Twitch Clip, as it's a one minute long angry rant by a streamer telling people to self-immolate, pour gasoline on themselves and lit a match, kill themselves, etc. etc.

However everytime I try to file the report, it says "INTERNAL ERROR" and won't let me report it.

It does this on Edge, Chrome and Firefox. I tried clearing caches and cookies, and nothing helps. I just can't report this specific clip.
