Watch streak issues!
Hello, I’m writing this report/ Idea about watch streak! I recently having a few issues about the watch streak! The first one is I’ve been watching the same streamers when they go live right but if we miss one stream we are able to maintain our streak if we watch the vod of the stream we missed but the icon doesn’t appear like it usually does, yes is the same stream that I missed so I lost the 70 streak streak! The other issue is I don’t know why sometimes it takes over 15 minutes to earn a watch streak which it happened to me and i lost a 95 stream streak ! The last issue is that Twitch doesn’t notify about you having a 24 hour period to watch so you can to maintain your streak!

My mobile apps aren’t adding to streaks. Today marks twice now that I’ve lost a 30-40+ streak because of the app. Doesn’t matter if I watch it from start to finish or comment, it doesn’t see me. It’s been a problem with my iPad for a while, but now it’s just happened on my phone for the first time.
I watched the latest stream the day before yesterday, I went to watch the current stream today and my streak was gone, even though I haven’t missed a stream. I checked notifications and I didn’t even receive the usual warning you get when you’re about to lose a streak. I just bought it up on my desktop and after a few minutes, it’s at 1. I’m really f*ing ****** off at the moment.

and it keeps happening again... got the info to watch a channel where I was about to hit a 3-streak, joined the stream, the chat and even made a clip... and after over one hour of watchtime... guess what... yep... "streak was about to be cut" so yeah... watched a clip to "save my two streak" 🤦♂️
and this time I had this stream running for at least 35 minutes as single stream... no other one next to this (so yeah, not only did I lose my 161 streak yesterday but I even didn't have a count on a stream today)
I'd say... get rid of this feature if it is not working as intended... (as it looks like to me)

well... today it got me again... on a channel without VOD, no one made clips but hey, I have been there as viewer for the whole time... just not chatting (as I have been working) so yeah, I guess twitch thought I was not there...
161-streak pretty much gone (as there is no content to restore it)

This is the second time I have lost my watch streak in a stream that I actively moderate xD

Something very similar happened to me and I lost a 240 stream streak. It really makes me mad because I was in the stream I “lost” it on and I was even chatting during it. Wasn’t notified to “save” it.
Also got the same BS that if people report the same issue they could restore my streak. I even showed proof of me chatting during the stream.

twitch support wrote to me in one mail:
"Hello andakar,
I did ask Engineering to take a look and in your case it is that you seem to be watching several different streams at the same time.
Please refresh browser before watching and watch one stream per time.
Best Wishes,
Twitch Support"and my reply was:
"will try, once I am back home from work, yesterday I had a solo stream running that took me 15 minutes to be registered, after refreshing
tuned in to a solo stream now prior to driving to work... will see if it registers it"
their reply was:
"Hello andakar,
you can kinda do both, please refresh browser and watch at least 5 minutes of a single stream or 2 stream tops and that should register the streak.
Best Wishes,
Twitch Support"however... as you see, I keep having the same problem but twitch support basically turned me down last time telling me to "use the forum"

of course they don't tell you to show proof or send them evidence... it worked in the past but they stopped restoring streaks... as twitch knew that they messed up and now it is the best to "share your problem in this forum" (knowing it won't be solved as we users can't restore anything)
so yeah, it is nice to say that they say "if there is enough people having the same issue" that they "could reset the streak" and we see that this is not happening
tuned into a stream yesterday, instantly got a view count plus one, switched to the next stream that went live as the streak was running and it didn't register for like one hour
refreshed my browser after 25 minutes and even restarted my browser... meanwhile two other streams I tuned into via app got registered... it took one hour tho for the one I was a mod at to get registered... but hey... even when "only watching one single stream" as twitch support once told me it doesn't register...
...so much for the problems with this system and writing here helps... because it doesn't... it just is a place to show that you are "having troubles"... and I keep collecting evidence and screenshots, timestamps and create clips on channels where VOD is deactivated... just to make sure to have a chance to restore my streak... but yes, it actually "is frustrating a lot" now
(re-wrote some parts of my text as... you know why)

They didn't tell me to show any proof. They just told me that they understood how frustrating it is to lose a streak and that I should make a post on the forum, where if a lot of people have the same problem they should be able to reset the streak.
As for proof, I personally would think that if I'm in a stream and have over 100 messages in the span of 4 hours of each stream, it's pretty much self-evident that I'm active in the stream.
The day before the streak was lost, the streamer had a community event and I was actively modding and making polls, chatting... which makes even less sense to how I lost my streak.Device used: PC (Win 11)
Browser: Brave -

sadly the streak is gone, if twitch support doesn't restore it (do you have evidence that you didn't miss the stream? like clips you created, or screenshots taken of chat during the stream? if not, there is basically almost no chance to have proof to send to them)
twitch support no longer restores streaks as it looks like... they did for me a long time ago after not only showing them clips I created (with time stamp from the live stream time) but also with chat screenshots and "mod view screenshots" of 2 bans I made
however they no longer restore streaks... sadly

I recently lost a 117 stream streak on a channel that I watch regularly and mod on it, even though I’m actively in the stream every time they go live so I was really surprised to see the streak reset.
I also didn't get any notifications that my streak was broken or that I should restore it.I already contacted Twitch Support, and they suggested posting here on the forums.
Is there any chance of getting the streak restored, or is it permanently gone once it resets?

This is definitely an issue that twitch needs to fix. I watched vods the same streamer faithfully and I watch their vod and previous stream before the 24 hours were up and I still lost my 63 streak. I was watching from my iPhone as usual with no problems

I lost my streak in a stream i mod for, i watched the streams for hours and was active in chat, performed 3 mod actions too, but still lost my streak.
to be precise, 5 days ago i shared my 130 stream streak, the day after was the stream where i lost it, and now that the streamer is live i realized my streak broke. I never got a notification about maintaining my streak either.
it's like everything failed :/ and theres still no way to fix the streak manually either

yo, Twitch... I know you basically don't care anymore... it happened AGAIN
was active as Mod on twitch, had the stream run in the NORMAL WINDOW on my tablet (and my smartphone while grabbing a coffee downstairs) and it said... I was not there...
...even when I started the raid as MOD... it got me the "notification" that my 53 streak is running out... yes, I did have two other streams run on the shared tab window... but they got detected instantly (even when being started AFTER the one I was a mod at)
your system of "detection" is total cra* to say so... if 1.5 hours of watchtime aren't being detected but 45 seconds into a stream are???
luckily I could restore my streak with a clip that got made... but hey... it's kinda BS to be honest...

hey Twitch, no idea if you are reading or not... but this time it hit me again... I was watching the VOD of a stream that did not count for me, I even tuned in a second time later that same day after dinner to check, if it keeps my watchstreak and during that time it said like two days ago "streak restored" so I tuned in to a stream today just to find out it said that I missed a stream... yep... almost 80 series gone... no information, no heads up... just a F.U. in the chat as it said "the streak has been reset as you missed a stream"
great job twitch... even with VOD no info that it is running out (but other channels with less views send notifications that you are about to lose a streak)
find the reason why it is so "informative" for us users... or just get rid of this "feature"
Edit: By the way, I just checked, as this streamer streams all streams on a second plattform... I indeed missed only the one stream that I rewatched to get a info, that my stream series got rescued... and then it seemed to have been a false info... the stream (still running now) I tuned in late is still the one that started like 1.5 hours earlier, no break, no restart, nothing... but it seems that the counter to "keep streaks" is set to the first few moments... could it be?
could it be that if you have a "restored streak" that you have to tune in to the next stream immediatly to actually save the streak? if so... then it sucks if you are not being able to tune in to the stream right at the beginning...
(Edit 2: yes, the stream still running now that seems to have reset the streak is on HamburgHafenLive which it claimed that I have restored the streak by watching the VOD but it seems that this was not true)

You need to be consistent and clear with your expectations. Sometimes the view counter goes up immediately when I start watching a stream other times it changes hours later or never. You don’t offer the chance to regain a stream consistently if you bother to offer it at all. Don’t limit the chance to watch a vod to 24 hours, instead the next time they stream. Some of the people I watch only stream once a week. Make a clear visual reference as to whether or not streaks are being earned and if not why. And unless you intend to force streamers not to cross with another streamer someone is watching set the tab limit at about 6-10, I have watched 4 or more I follow playing together in the same game. You are costing them viewers and not giving me credit for being there. If you intend to keep showing us commercials then you had better start giving us credit for earning you money. Put a button on every page that makes it clear the viewer was there and get what they earned. Give specific expectations and be consistent, tell people consistently if they lose a streak and a simple way to get it back. Also get e phone number typing isn’t easy for everyone.

and it happened again... kept 4 streaks yesterday, number 5 however, different story
as twitch support told me to watch "one stream at a time" I closed the streams I kept my streaks (including one where I was a mod) and then restarted my browser
joined a stream I was not sure if it kept it running or not, had this running (with me being active in chat) for over half an hour, no change, placed it on my mobile device, joined back on the other streams as well to get my mod duty done again and today after my night I get the notification that my 83 streak is in the need to be safed... after watching for a total of 4 hours!!!
twitch, your system is getting worse and worse now...
...fix this **** or get rid of it

I lost a 330 streak despite being at the previous stream and WATCHING the counter go up from 329. I got no notification on my phone about the 24-hour period despite having push notifications on, and when I went for help the support team just copied the text from the help page. It is extremely frustrating.

Honestly, it's quite embarrassing that they still can't get this right. Sometimes it takes 2 hours to detect, sometimes 1 minute, sometimes 5 hours and the next stream it says I missed the previous one, but no missed stream notification received. I still get missed stream notification when I genuinely miss a stream, but the misdetected ones sometimes don't send any notification.

the things I know is (as I am going to quote a support mail I got some time ago) to not use:
> any browser extensions that are not from twitch
> any adblockers
> any third party apps to watch on mobile
> any VPN service with twitch combined
> any website filters that remove parts like ads and so onthe mail continued with extra info that says to:
> not watch multiple streams at the same time
> not use minimized windows to avoid false detections (even when you can activate "background play" on twitch mobile app but this was not mentioned in the mail)
> not jump streams within the same window and hope for detection (but restart browser window and watch "at least 5 minutes" of a stream to be detected after resart (which took me 25 minutes on one single stream yesterday to be honest)So the issue should be solved by:
> watching only one stream at a time per device until it is detected, then switch to the next stream and see if it is detected (while switching to the first stream on a mobile device if you use a PC that is to still keep watching) and so on.
And in case you actually don't know if you missed a stream... if you can make clips during a stream, create some... just to have some way for a backup... if a channel doesn't offer VOD try to still create clips... and try to prioritize the channels that don't offer VOD for streak recovery.
And keep documenting issues with screenshots and (in best case) clips to still send to the support team (as I did and keep doing)
And no, I am not support crew, I just collected a lot of info now in the past months

Same issue here. I watched for over 1.5 hours from start to finish and actively participated in chat, but my streak did not progress from 94 to 95.
