2. Follow

   I want to be able to follow more channels I’m at the maximum capacity of channels I follow but I really want to follow loads more channels twitch is so vast full of interesting people. 😭 or away to remove people who are not streaming eg dead channels

3. Provide closed captioning for all streams automatically, taking away the control from the streamer

   To begin, The Twitch platform offers a closed caption program for content creators to enable on their streams, allowing the audience the option to use it. Although this option is available to all streamers, it lacks consistent usage across the platform, with many streamers not enabling the program at all. I noticed that while some streamers are friendly with the closed caption feature, others rarely or ever use it at all. Surprisingly, this included some of Twitch’s largest content creators such as KaiCenat, TimtheTatMan, and Jynxzi. Generally, with these streamers having the largest viewer base, they tend to attract the largest communities, and by not turning on closed captions, they are unintentionally restricting hard-of-hearing individuals from fully participating. By not having this feature enabled, a significant part of the population – around 20% of the world who are hard of hearing (WHO, 2025) as well as about 20% of teenagers (HealthyHearing, 2024), Twitches main target audience - are limited to the content they can properly engage with. While many streamers do cater towards people who are hard of hearing, oftentimes those viewers are forced to watch the same creators, not having the freedom to engage with anyone else they wish. Although they would be able to still watch the visual aspect of the live stream, understanding the commentary behind it is a huge component for the user’s experience.
   I suggest that moving forward, Twitch takes control of access to the closed caption feature instead of leaving it in the hands of the content creator. Twitch should incorporate this feature automatically when a streamer goes live, in this case people hard of hearing will have equal access to every streamer just like any other user. Upon the creation of a streaming account, the creator should be told that closed captioning will be automatically an available feature, giving them an understanding that viewers will have the ability to turn it off and on at will. For maximum efficiency, the closed captioning overlay software should be able to pick up both the creator’s voice as well as any on screen audio that may be used. For instance, if a content creator is playing a video game, the close captioning software can show the dialog from the game as well as the streamer's reaction to it. For viewers that tend to watch streams without closed captioning, nothing will change as this feature should be easily accessed to turn on and off.
   Furthermore, Twitch viewers should have control over which font is used for closed captions. Currently, when viewers enable closed captioning while watching a live stream, they are presented with the same Twitch Sans font. The Twitch Sans font is a custom design for the platform based on a generally sans-serif design. Although this font was created to be generally legible, people with certain disabilities or preferences may struggle with it over others. In Christina Bachmann and Lauro Mengheri’s piece, Dyslexia and Fonts: Is a Specific Font Useful, she says, “The publisher Angolo Manzoni created a specific font called EasyReading™, which, thanks to its high graphical legibility, is able to satisfy the special needs of dyslexic readers. [...] However, the weight of the specific characteristics of the EasyReading™ font is still not clear and will require additional work.” (Bachmann & Mengheri, 2018). This quote suggests that the creation of a new font has been beneficial for some dyslexic readers, yet not everyone benefits equally, and certain individuals vary based on their preference. I suggest giving the option for the user to have the capability to choose the font they wish to have displayed for closed captioning. If incorporating a massive database of fonts is undoable, Twitch could add 5-10 alternatives, giving the user the option to choose from. This will improve the user experience when using closed captioning for both people who struggle with certain fonts, and people who simply prefer to read in one font over the other. It is a simple fix that could have a largely beneficial outcome.
   In conclusion, while Twitch is a popular platform that strives for inclusivity and creativity, its current implementation of closed captions has plenty of space for improvement to better include hard or hearing users and those with learning or reading disabilities. By making closed captioning automatically a feature on every Twitch stream as well as customizable, I believe Twitch fill be able to foster a more inclusive space for all viewers, ensuring equal access to content across the platform. Even through smaller changes such as offering different font styles for closed captioning, Twitch could significantly improve its user's satisfaction. Twitch aligns its values with fostering a sense of belonging and innovation, by implementing these new features Twitch will point itself in the right direction, perfectly aligning itself with its morals. The smallest changes can spark the biggest impact, and Twitch has an opportunity to make those changes.

4. toggle facecam

   A Great idea would in my opinion would be to have the viewer be able to toggle off and on the steamers face cam. Sometimes the face cam blocks information on the screen that viewers would like to see. Giving the viewer the ability to toggle on and off the streamers face cam on the screen (similar to live chat) it would make the viewers experience a lot more enjoyable. Or being able to adjust the opacity to see through and see what's "hiding" behind the streamers face cam.

6. Being able to block the channel instead of the user

   Being able to block the channel with the 3 dots below the video feed instead of having to go into the chat user list and select the block user from the 3 dots there AFTER selecting their portrait. It took me awhile to figure out I needed to do this. Also I wouldn't mind still being able to see the streamers text in other channels I just don't want to be watching their streams or have them show up in recommended channels. Thank you for reading.

7. Changing speed of videos

   Please add a feature to change the speed of the stream/video. I have trouble understanding people when they talk too fast and being able to slow it down is so helpful.

9. Theater Mode shortcut change

   Change the key biding for theater mode from ALT+T to just T which is currently unused by any feature on basic twitch and keeps it in line with other shortcuts like F for Fullscreen or M for Mute. The reason is Firefox uses ALT+T to open the Tools tab in the files menu, the file menu tab is opened by pressing ALT while Firefox is the main window. To override this setting it requires manually disabling it by editing the configuration of Firefox or getting an unregulated extension from outside of twitch to edit it automatically.

    Здравствуйте. Предложение по поводу страницы создания клипов. С некоторых пор и в полной версии и в мобильной версии обновился интерфейс создания клипов. Раньше при создании клипа можно было выбрать качество видео, в котором клип будет воспроизводиться, при предпросмотре. На текущий момент - мало того что нельзя выбрать качество, так ещё и параллельно с полноэкранной версией на страницу создания клипа добавили версию для телефона. Таким образом на одной странице грузится сразу 2 окошка трансляции в максимальном качестве. И всё начинает жутко тормозить, и это невозможно исправить. Дело не в скорости интернета (у меня 100 мбит/сек, проводной интернет). Дело в том, насколько страница нагружает мой ноутбук. До этого изменения я спокойно создавал клипы. Я понимаю, что у вас в офисе Twitch стоят крутые компьютеры. Но немалая часть вашей аудитории пользуется Twitch со слабого ноутбука. Или с телефона. Я люблю создавать клипы на Twitch. Но это обновление убивает меня. Ведь то, что раньше занимало пару минут, теперь занимает не меньше 10 минут. Отпадает всякое желание создавать клип, из-за зависания страницы. И я повторюсь. Многие люди заходят на Twitch чтобы посмотреть как другие люди играют, потому что у них нет игрового мощного компьютера. Я в том числе, захожу посмотреть как люди играют в требовательные современные игры. И хочу поддерживать стримера, которого я смотрю, создавая клипы с интересными моментами. Однако теперь, когда страница создания клипа просто зависает, я не могу поддерживать любимого стримера, которого смотрю уже больше 6 лет. Я понимаю что вы потратили время и ресурсы и хотели сделать как можно лучше. Но я прошу вас добавить возможность выключить окошко мобильной версии при создании клипа. Я думаю основная проблема в том, что сразу 2 окна с предпросмотром очень сильно нагружают ноутбук и браузер. Когда я создаю клип с телефона в приложении Twitch - таких проблем нету. Прошу заметить, что далеко не все зрители создают клипы. Например у стримера, которого я смотрю - в среднем 1000 зрителей на трансляции и 230000 подписчиков(followers). Но клипы создают около 15 человек из всего числа зрителей. Т.е. это около 0,006% от общего числа зрителей. Хочется верить, что вы прислушаетесь к моей просьбе и вернёте мне возможность создавать клипы без зависаний и проблем.

    The Idea is to show users that are following a channel at least for a second or two that the channel is in followers only mode. So if you visit a channel in followers only mode and your following it just gives a friendly reminder the mode its in.

15. Game Category Past Broadcast Archive Duration Filter

    Past Broadcast archive "Sort=Duration" filter to view the longest VODs at the top of the list of Past Broadcasts.

    There is a problem with users publishing many very short VODs and it is cluttering the Most Recent filter of the Past Broadcasts archive in all game categories.

    Better filters will help users find long VODs without digging past all of the short spam VODS... Twitch seems unaware of short VOD spam accounts. It's a problem.

    Give recognition to people that put in the time to actually stream. Ignore the spammers.

16. un ruin the user interface?

    Hey im an occasional user who would just watch for twitch drops i came back to try and get the finals drops, but the video game category doesnt display the games that are streaming anymore just the popular ones. how am i supposed to find the finals now and get my drops if it isnt in the top 5? i dont know any the finals streamers. what the **** is going with this site this used to be easy...

    Améliorer le visuel des curseurs en cas de thème sombre des navigateurs
    sur navigateur si on bascule en thème sombre les curseurs des ascenseurs et certains boutons ne changent pas en blanc ( sont en noir forcé dans les styles css )
    et on se retrouve avec des éléments noirs sur fond noir .

    il faut modifier les styles css pour les éléments forcés en noirs sur le fond blanc afin d'ajouter la condition du thème du navigateur utilisateur .

    I think future twitch drops would be beneficial for twitch because if you know what drops are going to come out ahead of time you would be able to generate more views because people actually know what's going to come and can prepare

    Simply allow the user to pause/play with spacebar.
    I would also allow the user to click on the video to pause/play instead of having to find the icon

20. Accessibility: Creating Clips on Website without Mouse

    It is impossible to create clips using the website without having a mouse. The clip creation does not allow touch-only inputs or keyboard-only inputs to trim the clip or edit the portrait layouts.

    Creation of clips using the website is inaccessible for users that cannot use mouse inputs.
