Local currency pricing for subs and stuff
It would be cool for streamers who are not from usa, to have the possibility that your viewers can suscribe to them in their local currency. Like stores like steam do, having lower prices in local currencies.
I live in Argentina, and I think that having localized pricing in subscription and other things, would really help streamers from our region. I think it would incentivize people who watch to subscribe if the price is something they can afford.
Maybe an option that the streamer can set up the currency, and each currency having a price already set by twitch.
It would obviously involve a lot of validations so it isn't abused, but i think it would help us grow.
Hi there! Apologies for missing this.
We have implemented Local Sub Pricing on Twitch! This will better reflect the cost of living where a Subscriber is. More information can be found here: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/local-subscription-pricing

I would like to be able to set the price for subscriptions of my own channel. it's shocking that I can't. An applicable version of free-market within the Twitch ecosystem or at least to have a choice is essential not only but also for newer streamers. Newer streamers need support while they are developing their channel, finding their voice, and learning the rules. Let's say a newer streamer charges their subscribers $3.99 per month and an established streamer with thousands of subscribers also charges $3.99 because they don't get to set their own price. First of all, the quality of the content of a newer streamer can rarely match an experienced, established streamer (In most cases, it takes time and support to get there.). Only the streamers themselves are capable of knowing the value price of their channel. My request is not beneficial only to newer streamers. It is beneficial to everyone involved. It is just common sense!
LV and TopShop, both are awesome brands, but their products are not and should not be priced the same amount. A customer would buy more items from Topshop, fewer items from LV, at the end, both brands make their fair share of profits.
There is also the foreign countries, currencies issue that's been mentioned by other streamers. Giving the choice to the streamer could fix this issue. Streamers know their viewers and what their viewers could and should afford since they are constantly in contact with their viewers.
I understand if twitch needs to set a minimum amount for operational expenses and/or profits, at the end of the day, streaming and streaming services both are businesses. I strongly suggest that Twitch must set its minimum price and let the streamer set the full price of subscriptions for their own channel. Twitch could still take half of the full amount, too. This would benefit Twitch specially when a streamer decides to charge their subscribers more than before. Twitch would be safe knowing it set it's minimum value but also could profit more when streamers up their own value but that's not all. Newer streamers charging lower prices would bring more paying customers to Twitch for sure!
If TWITCH doesn't want to give that much freedom to its streamers, Twitch could offer its streamers a tier system according to the number of subscribers because, you know, supply and demand...
It would be a great opportunity for everyone involved if twitch provides flexibility to its streamers on pricing their own value and support some sort of free-market.PS: Focus on the idea, not my grammar, this is important to me.
PS: I mean partners and affiliates when I say streamers. -
