Refunds after streamer stops streaming
One of my favourite creators stopped streaming recently. Two months ago I opted for a 6 month subscription. I requested a refund for 4 out of the 6 months, taking into account that the second month of the subscription occurred 1 day after the final stream. Twitch refused my request, saying they can only issue refunds for technical problems.
I doubt there are many who chose a 6 month recurring subscription to this particular creator. The best possible scenario is that the creator still gets paid out after those 6 months, the worst is that they don't reach the required 100$ treshold and you keep my money indefinitely, while the creator sees nothing.
I would like to see an improved refund policy in cases where streamers stop streaming, and/or a guarantee that all money spent before the final stream still get paid out in full, regardless of the 100$ treshold.

If there has been no streamer activity in over X days, I think Twitch is obligated to do *something* for the long-term subscribers. I do not think it is sufficient to hide behind legalese, take the customer's up-front money, and run. That behavior looks horrible to the customers and deters people from subbing for longer.
Even if Twitch doesn't refund the money, maybe they could front the cost of Twitch Turbo for a couple of months while you look for someone new to follow on a dedicated basis. That is what good stewardship would look like.

When I prepaid for six months for a streamers content to Twitch, I did not think they would keep the money if the content stopped. I am sure that if the owners of Twitch prepaid for six months of IT service, and after a short period of time, the IT support stopped, they would require a refund. Until there are changes to what I feel are less than honorable practices, I will refrain from purchasing any further subscriptions, and will instead do donations to the streamers I would normally subscribe to. Remember, fair is fair.
