I think this should be a thing, But maybe not in the way it is said. Maybe give an opportunity to allow or deny a gift sub. And if someone denies it the gifter could have an option to maybe convert it into Bits.. or Gift to someone else who is following.

@Coolzeb1234 - they probably meant to "pay it forward." It would be silly of them to gift a random sub and then expect that person to willingly give it to somebody else (if that even was a thing).

once i'v seen this ability in a chat. somebody gave away his gifted sub to somebody else. the message in chat was like this" "user" redirected gifted sub to "user" .

give back gifted subs when you dont enjoy the streamer and received the sub by accident

There are two cases Gift to the Community and Gift to a Specific Viewer.

I am OK with Specific Viewer gifts being permanent, they where chosen by the person spending the money.

I think Community gifts should be able to forwarded back to the community if the recipient does not want it. This would increase the chance of the gifter benefiting the community as intended.

I have received two gifted subs to channels I have never visited. I would have liked being able to forward to a new recipient, because otherwise the gift is wasted.

I really like this idea, but I also understand why it might not be in Twitch's best interest. Twitch obviously has an algorithm for determining who gets a gifted sub when it goes to the community. If someone gets gifted a sub who doesn't want it, it doesn't really make sense from the financial standpoint of Twitch to regift the sub because if someone who's not subscribed to a channel wants to be subbed and another person who may be followed but doesn't visit the channel really gets the sub, they could regift it and then another person could regift it until this person gets the sub. Especially in smaller channels, doing this might just mean that one person could repeatedly get a gifted sub, even if they have the money to sub themselves. Keeping resubbing off would incentivize people to sub themselves or find a different way of getting a subscription like asking a friend or parent to buy one for them, or buying one through channel points.

we need this! because once in a while you walk in to a stream and someone gift subs you without your really wanting it! so regifting would be great!
