Inactive usernames

Per the twitch policy, inactive usernames are recycled every 6 months. With that said, I have been vigilant for 3 years, attempting to acquire a username that has been inactive since its existence. This username is not someone that all ppl would want. its actually very similar to my twitch username minus 2 letters.

I would like the team to follow through on the policy and actually release the inactive usernames so that the streamers that actually put in work can utilize them for their own benefit, in turn for the benefit of the company

    I'd like to point out that "inactive" does NOT mean "has not streamed in 6 months".
    It means inactive as in has not logged into the account in that period of time. For every "streamer" there are like (at least) 30,000 "viewers" who do not stream. It's very likely that person DOES use their account and it has no reason to be recycled lol.

    Twitch changed their username policy and hasn't made ANY announcement whatsoever here and on the uservoice. The new article mentions NOTHING about recycling usernames. Stupid how most inactive names are locked to 2% of users, partners.

    Twitch uservoice is "Not owned or operated by Twitch". Whomever is making policy at Twitch does not care about following through, or about what is being discussed here. It could be recommend to start a discussion on X or another social media platform and tag the Twitch account. That may have more visibility. Post a link here so anyone can find it.

    I was waiting patiently for an inactive username to be recycled since 2018, today I found out that a Partner stole it, who then told me he just sent one email.

    Unfair that Twitch violates their own name recycling policy for Partners. "We also do not take requests for specific usernames to be recycled."

    So stupid. If they changed the policy to say they allow Partners to request usernames that would make it acceptable at least but they outright say they don't take requests...

    Lesson here is don't hunt for an inactive username because if a Partner wants it, they can get it with a simple email and you don't even get a fair chance of getting it after checking it monthly for 6 years. Just give up guys, Twitch doesn't care about you.

    Seriously! You got people who want to spend time on your platform and you can’t even have the decency to even look at the situation. You got people in the comments saying they have been trying for over a year to get a name me included. Some have been as far back as 5 years ago. Be about your word please! Show some good faith to the people! We rock with yall but you could release a statement or something. Hopefully one of these messages will get through to yall. Be blessed!

    For real the username I want the person has zero activity on that account and it is ridiculous. Please recycle usernames from inactive accounts.

    It truly sucks, I've talked to Sensless's with 3 to 7 S's at the end and we have figured out that "sensless" hasn't been active in 4 years but still we can't get the name.

    The twitch name i want is maury and the user has not been active for a very long time and it would really be helpful if i had the name because every one i know calls me by that name (maury) and it would be easier for them to spot me in chat when i type.

    They won’t even give me my OWN old username back because I lost the email. So instead of my username that I have EVERYWHERE else, it has a stupid zero instead of the letter o. I’ve been told for FOUR YEARS the username would be released to the pool after a year of inactivity but it’s been four years and absolutely NOTHING!
