Please stop disabling notifications!
Please stop automatically turning off notifications for streamers I haven't watched for a while. At the very least, either give me an option in the email to revert the changes, or be smart enough to know which I have manually re-enabled so as to stop making them part of the next wave. I'm not on Twitch often, but I like knowing when certain friends are online, and it drives me absolutely crazy to have to go seek out each person from a long list of subs and manually re-enable the notifications every time the algorithm decides I don't need them anymore!

All of my settings on both twitch and my phone are set to alert me when a stream starts, but it doesn’t work. I know it’s not my settings because it very briefly worked a few months ago, but not anymore. Sick of constantly missing streams.

If I wanted to not get notifications on someone going live, I would either turn those off myself or unfollow the streamer

I submitted a support ticket about this today. After several messages telling me how to set my preferences, they assured me they're not changing my settings. I sent a screenshot of the email telling me they cahnged my settings and they closed the ticket!!

Scrolling through the list of streamers I follow, manually finding and clicking every single one individually to turn them back on because even a bulk "toggle all" button would be too kind. Still the same problems for years and years. What a joke.

Yes please stop thinking AI knows better than I do what notifications I want. This is the worst "feature".

it is very annoying every time re-enabling notifications. please, stop doing that!

This never should've been implemented; or if it was, it should have been implemented as OPTIONAL from day 1. Twitch actively hates its users, though, so I'd be incredibly surprised if they ever allowed us to disable this "feature".

I keep getting these emails telling me that "we will no longer be sending you updates about X" because I have haven't viewed that stream in a while. I ALWAYS want to receive notifications for the channels I'm following, even if I haven't viewed them in a while. After getting this email I found that there were several channels that notifications were turned off for that I didn't even realize were turned off, because I must have missed the last time they were automatically turned off.
PLEASE remove this feature, if I want to stop receiving notifications I can do it myself.

This is so frustrating. Please stop auto-doing ANYTHING. If we don't want notifications, we'll turn it off ourselves. If you're going to do it anyway, then give us the entire list of what you've changed instead of "and 5 other streamers". If you're going to do it anyway, then give us a list of streamers that we can order instead of something random! You've made a recurring process we don't want and given us a very frustrating way to deal with it. It's stuff like this that not only makes it feel like you don't listen to your customers, but you actively dislike us, too.

"Why are we updating your streamer preferences?
We want to make Twitch notifications as effective and efficient as we can for you to see the activity you care most about."
Okay, but I don't want you to do that. Let ME decide what's best for ME. Why would I want you to automatically adjust my settings? This is terrible. At the very least, users should be able to opt out. I can't fathom why this was ever even implemented. Removing or resetting options without a prompt is ALWAYS anti-user, and it's frustrating to keep changing them back. Maybe I want the notifications even if I personally am not watching the stream? Did no one consider that? It's ridiculous. If you just give us the option, it covers every use case instead of forcing what you think is best on us.

The whole idea of going in and changing your setup without giving you an option to stop them is ridiculous. I don't understand the point of it. If you *must*, just send an email recommending me some notifications I could turn off. But how about leave me alone?

Happened again today.

Yes, this is idiotic. How is it anything but a blatantly anti-consumer move when there's no way to turn it off? Just because I don't watch someone stream for a bit means I never get to see them again? Am I a goldfish?

Twitch will automatically disable notifications from a channel because I haven't watched them in a while. I would like to prevent Twitch from doing this, because it means I have to go into my settings and re-enable those notifications. I would like to not spend time re-enabling settings I didn't want disabled in the first place.
Here is the message I receive when Twitch takes this action:
You receive an email or mobile notification from Twitch whenever [streamer] goes live, but we noticed you haven’t viewed that stream in a while. To make sure you only get notifications relevant to the channels you watch, we will no longer be sending you updates about [streamer].
If you still want to receive updates from [streamer], you can set your own preferences at any time through your notifications settings.

Yes. I would vote for this but it seems that I don't have voting privileges. I had one of these pieces of stupidity this morning. Did I TELL you to unsubscribe me from the particular creator's videos Twitch? No? THEN STOP TRYING AND FAILING TO THINK FOR ME. And while you're at it you can dump that idiotic "It looks like you have logged in from a different device, being the device that you've been using for the last THREE YEARS. "Here, go waste your time looking up a 6 digit code that we sent you so that you can turn back on the notifications that we disabled without your permission."

This twitch setup is annoying.
Maybe instead of the algorithm turning it off for you, use the algorithm instead to only suggest to you that you don't watch the channels and that you can disable the email notifications.
