1. After username was changed show an url or redirect the users the new user channel

I renamed my user from kozakagamer to kozaka. Everything went fine, just the old https://www.twitch.tv/kozakagamer is not working now (Time machine missing :) ).

So, my idea is, that maybe it would be good, that in case rename an url should be show which points to the new page or the user should be redirected to the new. Maybe just for 60 days?

This way, if an viewer comes over fore example a stored url, and want to find me, he could easily find my channel without any guessing what the new name would be.

   Thanx

2. Make username transfers between users a thing. Especially when the username somebody wants belongs to someone who isnt even doing anything

Basically if someone chooses a username but doesn’t do anything or have any followers or progress, even if they’re using the account to watch and follow people, you don’t need a specific username to do that, but you do need one to actually make progress and get people to find you more easily and be known by that username. So it makes sense that username should go to someone who actually needs it and is gonna use it to stream and make progress. So there should be an exception where twitch would actually give someone who wants to stream and make progress on twitch a username that’s taken by someone who isn’t actually doing anything with it. And no variations of a username are not always an option, there are people who lack creativity and only want the exact same one so don’t tell me “just move on and deal with it”.

4. Make a name unavailable if it's waiting to recycle

If a name is awaiting recycling don't show it as available when you add a new one. I have had this frustration for a while because I originally didn't understand when I would get "available" but it was just an error when trying to set the change of username to specific ones with no other explanation.

5. Use discretionary usernames for new sign ups and for people who don't stream

It is next to impossible to change to a new username for two reasons:

   1. The majority of user accounts are people that view only and don't want to stream. There are 140 million active users and only 7 million streamers!!!
   2. It takes forever for an inactive or closed account to release the username, much longer than the "advertised" 6 months, and it's been already 8 years since you said you'll do something about it.

A good idea would be to use aliases/discretionary usernames for existing and new users that are not affiliate/partner (active streamers), like discord with the #xxxx. Once a user reaches affiliate then they can choose a username of their own.

6. Clarify username change limitations before sign up

When creating my account, I was stuck on what username to use. Twitch showed a message during the sign up which said something like "Don't worry, you can change this later."

So I thought, ok I'll just put anything for now, and once my account is set up, I can change it to something else.

But after I finished making my account, I went to the settings to find I had to wait 2 months before I could change my name!

I feel like I was provided some false reassurance and now I'm stuck for 2 months with a name I didn't want. The message provided was misleading and resulted in a poor user experience for me.

The username message at sign up should clarify the timeframe required for username changes, as it currently gives the false impression that I can change my username immediately after I sign up.

7. Few Ideas, please read : )

I have a few ideas that I think would be great changes to the username system. To start off I believe the "4 letter" name rule is far outdated I don't see an issue with 3 letter names being allowed, some user already have 3 letter names (I.E. XqC, ABE,Pat,Red) so it's 100% doable. Another change that I think would be great is to allow more characters/symbols in names, such as ( ' - ~ / \ | ) ETC. Including symbols diacritics (e.g. ú, ÿ, ç, å, ē) should also be allowed in usernames, they're already used in other games/sites such as Blizzard. Lastly I think the name recycle time is to long, should be reduced to if a name is inactive for 3-6months then it becomes open. I also think that even if the account is a partner or affiliate if they are no longer using the account the name should be open. It's obvious Twitch is growing much larger and fast, unique usernames is a great way to distinguish our selfs from other streamers/viewers and with the growing population on Twitch alot of names are no longer avalible. Just a few idea's I had please share thought's below!

p.s. if a staff see's this and whats to give me the name "sev" feel free too : ) <3

8. Suspension regarding inappropriate usernames

Before suspending users with inappropriate names, could you instead give them a 5 day warning to change? The suspension without warning seems very unnecessary if a person has had it for the longest time and suddenly got suspended. I believe lots of people could stop clogging suspension appeals with this, especially those who aren't genuine trouble makers with their names and people deserve second chances! Especially with usernames, my friend got suspended and there was no clear heads up on their suspension. They were watching a stream and bop! Banned without warning and for having an average name that never harmed anybody and definitely made a bunch of people laugh and bring a smile to their face.

This also just sounds like I want my friend unsuspended, but I believe giving a person a 1-7 day warning to change their name will unclog lots of suspension appeals.

9. Username Avaliability

Usernames are a hard thing to think of, especially when you think of it, and someone has it. I would personally love to have ImJace or even Jace, but I can't because they're already claimed, and when I search for them, they don't appear. My proposal is to add it so that you can claim the name if the account is banned/unused. You could go about this by adding a timer, of something like 3 years, of inactivity, and it warns them of course, but if they don't login or reply to it, it makes the name available. Another way of doing it is like how Microsoft does their Minecraft usernames.

10. The Allure of Atlanta: Finding Your Perfect Jewelry Store

Atlanta, a city pulsating with history, innovation, and Southern charm, offers a shopping experience as diverse as its neighborhoods. From the high-fashion runways of Buckhead to the eclectic, artisan vibes of Little Five Points, the quest for the perfect piece of jewelry is an adventure in itself. Whether you're seeking a timeless heirloom, a modern statement piece, or a custom-designed symbol of your love, the right jewelry store in Atlanta can transform a simple purchase into a memorable milestone. The city's landscape is dotted with establishments that cater to every taste and budget, each offering a unique blend of craftsmanship, service, and story.

The journey to find that exceptional piece often begins in the glittering heart of Atlanta's luxury scene: Buckhead. This district is synonymous with sophistication, home to renowned national brands and prestigious local jewelers. Here, you can find internationally recognized designers and certified gemologists who specialize in high-carat gold, flawless diamonds, and rare gemstones. Walking into these establishments is an experience in itself, with impeccable service and collections that showcase the pinnacle of jewelry design. For those investing in a significant piece like an engagement ring or a milestone anniversary gift, these Buckhead jewelers offer unparalleled expertise and a guarantee of quality.

However, the soul of Atlanta's jewelry scene often lies beyond the marble-clad showrooms. The city has a rich, homegrown tradition of artistry, with many designers drawing inspiration from its cultural tapestry. In neighborhoods like Virginia-Highland or Westside, you'll discover boutique studios where the artists work on-site. These local jewelers are masters of custom design, offering a collaborative process where your vision is brought to life from a sketch. Choosing a local jewelry store in Atlanta like this means acquiring a one-of-a-kind piece with a narrative. You're not just buying a ring; you're buying the story of its creation, a connection to the maker, and a work of art that reflects the unique character of the city itself.

For those with an eye for the unique and a love of history, Atlanta's vintage and estate jewelry shops are veritable treasure troves. These stores, often found in areas like Decatur or in specialized multi-dealer malls, offer a curated selection of pieces from bygone eras. From the geometric lines of Art Deco to the bold glamour of the 1980s, shopping for vintage jewelry is like owning a piece of wearable history. It’s a sustainable and deeply personal way to find a piece with character and a past life. The knowledgeable proprietors can often share the provenance of significant items, adding another layer of meaning to your purchase.

Furthermore, the modern consumer's desire for transparency and ethical sourcing has been met head-on by Atlanta's jewelers. Many stores now proudly specialize in lab-grown diamonds, recycled precious metals, and ethically sourced gemstones. This allows customers to make a beautiful choice that aligns with their values, without compromising on brilliance or quality. This forward-thinking approach is a testament to how the city's jewelry industry is evolving, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary ethics.

In conclusion, the search for the perfect piece of jewelry is deeply personal, and the city of Atlanta provides a landscape rich with possibility. From the luxurious halls of Buckhead to the creative workshops of its artisan districts, the right jewelry store in Atlanta is waiting to be discovered. The key is to consider what you value most: the assurance of a globally recognized brand, the creative collaboration of a custom design, the unique charm of a vintage find, or the peace of mind that comes with an ethical purchase. No matter your preference, Atlanta’s vibrant and diverse jewelry scene ensures that your search will be as rewarding as the piece you ultimately take home, a sparkling reminder of your time in this dynamic Southern capital. https://regal.studio/

11. display Name Feature Needs an Update or Removal

The display name system on Twitch feels outdated and confusing. Right now, it only allows capitalization changes, which doesn’t offer any real customization. For most users, this option just causes frustration — it looks like you should be able to change your name, but you can’t actually modify anything besides letter case.

If the feature exists only for capitalization, it might make more sense to either:

Integrate capitalization control directly into the username settings, or

Expand the display name feature to allow full customization (like how other platforms handle “display names” separately from usernames).

In short: the current implementation serves little purpose and could be improved or streamlined for clarity and usefulness.

12. Freeing Up Usernames after a certain time

Disclaimer that I am aware that this has already been suggested, but has stayed as a "planned" suggestion for a decade now. I think its totally reasonable to let people keep their account name even if they are inactive since people take breaks from being online, however, there should be a time limit. After about 3-5 years of not a single login, the user should get an email warning them that their username might be publicly available again if they do not take action. I personally really want to change my username to not have any numbers in it, but the version that I want is taken by an account that (as far as I know) has had no activity in the past 5 years. They have no badges, no vip/mod roles in any chats, no profile picture, and nothing on their profile in general. Additionally, they have not answered the whisper I sent them years ago. I think as a platform its unfortunate to have majority of the short/underscore-free/number-free usernames all be taken by people who do not even use the website anymore. This also leads to a lack of simplicity among names, since most people signing up for twitch nowadays have to add several numbers, underscores, or duplicate letters to their usernames. Indirectly, this leads to sightly more struggle to grow as creator especially as an affiliate, since your username might not be as recognizable or memorizable as you need it to be. I also suggest making usernames of banned accounts available, with the exception of usernames who were banned for the content of the username itself. There are several twitch account names who were banned who have voided a name forever. I would add a cooldown of a couple years so people don't mistakenly think that said user was unbanned, but again, the lack of freeing up these names leads to the problem of unique, simple usernames all being taken. Thank you!

16. Allow the use of "&" in usernames for duo streamer channels

I would like to be able to use "&" for my username. This would benefit a lot of duo streamers, like myself, who don't use a singular name to represent both members.

This would reduce the length of some usernames as well. This would also reduce the length of the emote prefixes, and make usernames easier to read in chat, as well as links.

    Please consider adding this option!

17. Not having to wait 2 months to change user name

Many reasons against waiting 2 months to be able to change to ur username again, but I am curious about why is this even a thing????
-I am trying to find the best username for me and the one I have right now I ended up not liking
-Losing followers from the name change and still have to wait 2 months
-Trying to even find a decent username is so long n difficult so the second u change it u have to wait 2 months.
-I really can’t think of any reasons on why this is even a thing

Also not relevant to this but ads are unbelievable, I sometimes get up to 10 ads on streams like I really didn’t go on twitch to watch ads, I just don’t bother watching n the amount of viewers streamers lose cos of it…

18. Make changing names available more frequently

While 60 days isn't bad, I'm still in the middle of figuring out the best branding for my channel, and I just changed my name, but not really digging it since giving it a go for a couple of days and would like to try something different that I've been enjoying, but as it stands I have to wait two months before I can change it. Would be nice to be able to change it sooner. Thank you for your time!
