Rollback the FireTV App to V9
The loss of functionality of V10 when compared to V9 is baffling. The redesigned UI is nigh incapable of assisting the user with finding non-live content, since the home, bowse, and category pages now only present live channels to the user.
In the prior app version, all followed channels were listed in a dedicated row about 2 rows below the top/live followed channels row. By removing this and all other non-live content, V10 of the FireTV app delivers an experience that is order of magnitudes more cumbersome to navigate compared to the prior version.
In the updated version users are required to search for individual channels (followed channels included) if they're looking for ANY non-live content, even content they've started watching but had to pause and return to later. Why on Earth should we have to go to the search section and search for any of that content in V10 when V9 gave it to us in a clean and concise manner. Moreover, if we want to know what our followed streamers have recently streamed, we have to search each one individually. And once we've made a decision on who to watch, we get to search them a second time in the same session. It's ridiculous and wasn't so cumbersome in V9.
I could give this a pass if the UI presented the most recent broadcast for each followed channel along side all the live followed channels at the top of the home screen. While still not ideal, at least then I'd only have to waste at most a little time passing through a vod I may not be interested in to get to their profile and find the content I'm ultimately looking for. But I can't even do that, and am instead shoehorned into searching for streamers I already follow.
And to top it all off... The chat history has been completely removed from the vods, and you can no longer send chat messages in the FireTV app.
You also can't force the playback overlay to hide in V10, and instead have to wait 5 seconds for it to disappear on its own. Before, in V9, you could hide it without delay by pressing down
Why has so much functionality been removed and the user experience worsened so tremendously?? Keep V10 and give us back V9!!!

The twitch dev team are stupid for this update.... this update took away text on VoDs for zero reason and I've basically had to abandon the app entirely in favor of a 3rd party app that supports VoD chat.
Good freaking job twitch devs... you have done it... you've started to remove your viewer base from using the official app and displease everyone for literally zero reason... since that's the overarching aim for inteligent company heads to do... actively kill their profit margins and needlessly irritate their clientele.
Is there a secret internal race between Amazon and Google to see which company can tank their streaming platform faster? Because at the rate you all are going both of yall can't stop shooting yourselves in the foot. Keep it up I'm sure they will both crumble into ash soon.
If my displeasure isn't palpable enough... lets make it clearer.... Fire all of your department heads NOW.

I just can't back to comment again about how pathetic this version 10 is. I'm now getting the random closing like others have mentioned. Yes, still sucks that we can no longer chat on the TV app. We look stupid watching the stream while chatting to the same stream with our phones. I like Twitch on the big screen. You fools just decided to kill the user experience. 🤬

I absolutely agree to what this fellow has said it insanely difficult to see how v10 is better than v9 mostly because v10 totally disregards any and all viewers of twitch from the television perspective!

Can't watch all VoDs because they are missing in the firetv app, available in desktop or mobile though. Please list all available collections.

I agree. I thought it was a bug with my TV because I couldn't see chat history on vods! Chat is an integral part of twitch and removing it from vods removes half of the experience.

Absolutely. I completely despise the new version. I can't see chat on VODs so I won't watch them back on my TV anymore which I used to do all the time. I can't go through anyone's old clips past a set handful of popular which means I can't even see recent. Not being able to go to pages without searching is terrible. It feels like a massive downgrade and I hate it. I use it much less now.

this ticket was raised in march and there has been no response - well thanks to twitch switching off hosting soon its going to be even more of a nightmare for the people using this app. remember we don't get carried along on raids anymore and now when you go to the person's profile (to see where everyone raided to) you won't see any information about hosting.
THAT means you would have to do the raid on your mobile, see where everyone went then go on the tv app and SEARCH for the channel [what a hot mess]
you should never need 2 apps to perform a function. this is not okay.
I am beginning to suspect that this little space was created to just contain our outrage and there are no plans to improve anything. there hasn't even been a whisper of when things are expected to change -

Insane to me that they still have only addressed one single complaint and continue to ignore the MAJOR problems that make this app almost unusable for most everyone. The buffering in VoDs is BROKEN, it DOESN'T WORK. The functionality before, when VoDs worked properly, was that if the video had to buffer it would continue at the point that the video paused to buffer. The incompetent lazy out of touch moronic programmer for the new version of this app instead just copy pasted the player for live broadcasts it seems, meaning that when a video buffers, it doesn't pause the video clock at all, it will skip the entire duration of video you were waiting (OR MORE, MUCH MORE). Absolutely astounding that they would PAY someone to replace their functioning app with this functionless featureless garbage, what a waste of money. They could easily have just... not done that and probably saved all that money they were scammed out of by whatever work for hire they used. This should embarrass Amazon, this makes them look clueless and incompetent.
