Chromecast VODs freeze at 1080p
When streaming VODs at 1080p (perhaps more, my TV is 1080p) after about 1-2 minutes, the stream will stop and load indefinitely. This happens on my Chromecast Ultra and Chromecast v2/v1.

Learned tonight that it happens if you try to cast through Chrome on a computer too... Only way I'm able to get around it is to cast my whole phone screen with the vod playing on my phone and it's a ridiculous solution. How have people been complaining about this since 2019 (elsewhere) and nothing has been done -_-

I also have this issue. chromecast ultra, wired ethernet. Please look into it - it worked about a month ago without issue, started having this issue maybe 2-3 weeks ago. Also worth noting, the Chromecast is supposed to automatically adjust quality, and you can't specify the playback resolution through the source video (if casting from Chrome) - so I don't think it's accurate to say it's 1080p only. Even if I choose 360p and then cast it, it would auto-scale based on network quality.
Chromecast with Google TV devices don't have this problem (I have 2 that play just fine without stopping every 1-2 minutes.)

When I stream on Chrome cast with twitch via my Pixel 3 ... no matter what the quality it stops every 30 seconds or so. If i pause and replay the video it starts back up. This has caused me to not use twitch .... at all via chrome cast ... Which is pretty much my major time viewing. I'm assuming this has to do with some sort of code that doesn't see the person viewing the video and therefore cuts off the broadband in favor of those viewing... or something like that.. either or.. I NEVER have this issue with any other programs... TWITCH MUST BE FIXED in this matter... or I will continue to not use it. (Again I have used many programs at 1080P including youtube, Amazon Prime, HBO, and Netflix without issue with my current internet provider and setup WITHOUT ISSUE)

Same problem. One interesting thing is that when I'm using the Twitch app on the very same device and internet connection (Nvidia Shield TV has Android apps and Chromecast integrated) there are no problems.

I got the same problem. I have 500/500 internet. All the streams are topnotch quality, but th VODs are always freezing on 1080p after like a minute and won't continue playing.
