Bring back the Roku channel!
The Twitch app was removed from the Roku Channel Store and will no longer receive updates is the word from Roku. I'm not buying a Fire TV to watch it, Amazon. I tried your Fire TV and Roku just works better; plus Roku makes it easier to find my channels which are buried under all your Amazon garbage on Fire TV. Limiting the ways people can watch content from entities you own seems like shooting yourself in the foot.

Highly agree! I personally find that I barely watch Twitch live anymore because there’s no Roku app. I don’t want to pull out and boot up a separate device just for Twitch when everything else is on my TV, so I just don’t watch live anymore- I wait until the vod is uploaded to YouTube. Giving us the app back would mean that I actually spend time on Twitch, giving them money from ad revenue and subs. If they have an app on basically everything else, why not Roku?

I understand your frustration, because losing a Twitch channel on Roku can be disappointing. But it's important to understand that this isn't necessarily the fault of Roku or Amazon. Companies may have various reasons for removing an app from their stores, which may be beyond their control. Instead of panicking, it may be worth considering alternative ways to view Twitch content, such as on a computer or mobile device. Also, Roku offers many other channels and apps that you might be interested in, and finding them can be made easier with Roku's features.

Nowadays it is undoubted that Twitch is not present on Roku Express devices. We have to forcefully resort to other unconventional means, submitting ourselves to flawed applications that do not meet our expectations.
We urge Twitch's developers and senior leaders to put pride aside and competently grant their customers the right to watch lives through our Roku. Please!
Sincerely,
a lover of games and lives. Twitch's number one fan. -

Gosto bastante dos conteúdos da twitch e sou usuário da Roku. Fiquei decepcionado com a Amazon por limitar minha experiência com a Twitch. Tenho assistido menos desde então.

I wholeheartedly agree, especially since Roku's new certified channel only policy. Clearly with the amount of twitch sideloading channels that were developed for roku, there is a solid demand for this.
Also, who wants to strain their eyes squinting at any touchscreen when they can't sleep at 3 am and want to catch or rewatch a stream?

You can improve my experience by returning to roku systems the twitch app so I dont need to be mirroring with my cellphone having to drop quality to 480 as any higher quality with 60 fps disconnects the airplay connection. I don’t know why it can be implemented like it is on other smart tv’s

Add a roku app or add it to a section of Prime Video. Want to watch on my roku tv. Not buying a fire tv stick for a tv that already has a roku built in. I'd sub to Critical Role to watch on demand, but since I can't use my TV i just wait for free content on YT. Your loss Amazon.

I would watch Twitch.tv so much more if there is a Roku app. My alternative is to watch it on my 12 inch work laptop. Instead I watch Netflix or Hulu on my Roku smart TV because Twitch isn't available.

I feel like this is a lost opportunity for Amazon/Twitch to increase streaming Twitch among Roku users. If Roku is such a big competitor of the Firestick why are we able to stream Amazon Prime? Why are we able to buy Roku devices on Amazon with a Amazon Prime membership?
Keeping products from competing streaming devices like Roku may seem like a good idea until you realize that in doing so you frustrate an entire chunk of your clientele that uses said device.
Prime Video has over 800k ratings on the Roku. That’s only the people that decided to leave a rating. The group of people that crossover between Roku and Amazon make up a sizable demographic.
Of this demographic 17,465 Roku users rated the Twitch app when it was still offered (Nov. 2, 2017). I’m willing to bet the number of people using twitch and Roku has increased since then.
I know that Amazon is a big company, but do they really want to inconvenience over 17,000 people in hopes that some of them drop everything and buy a fire stick?
I know I’m not buying a fire stick for a reason like that. Why should the little guys pay for a new hunk of plastic to stream with when they already have one that works perfectly fine? Amazon is a 300 billion dollar corporation (Twitch is 5 billion) that has the capability of streaming its app on multiple platforms. It was already on Roku and they took it off.
I speculate that they can get away with removing Twitch because it’s not as big of a platform as Prime, but it’s growing.
In March of 2020, the term “does roku have twitch” reached its absolute search volume on Google dating back 5 years. Imagine how many more eyeballs would have been watching Twitch on a Roku device at the start of the pandemic.
Just in April of this year (2021), google searches hit 71% of the peak search volume of this specific phrase. This doesn’t take into account repeat searches or different phrases that were searched of a similar nature.
The fact of the matter is that Roku users continue to want to stream Twitch on their Roku device. I love Twitch and I use it regularly throughout my week, but I know that I would use it even more if it was accessible to my Roku.

Amazon is really taking the wrong choice here. I won't by a fire stick. Bring back the roku app. There's the Amazon Prime Video channel in roku!! I really see no reason.

I agree. Twitch was pulled from Roku once it was acquired by Amazon, and the logic is that Roku is a competitor. That makes no sense. If that were true, why is Amazon Prime still available? This needs to be discussed within both Amazon and Twitch

I 100% support this idea and hope that we get an official Twitch.tv app on Roku. It seems really odd that Twitch has not hopped on this considering all its competitors have, such as Youtube.
I would LOVE to be able to watch my favorite streamers on my TV through my Roku. I don't want to have to set up one of my gaming consoles to go to the web browser to watch Twitch on my TV.

It makes no sense. Roku supports Amazon Prime Video, but Amazon won't let them put a Twitch channel back in because of ??? I've stopped watching Twitch almost completely because of this bone-headed decision. Something tells me I'm not the only one!
