Please respond to the overwhelming negative feedback on app redesign
The users have spoken, and the consensus is that this mobile UI update is overwhelmingly disliked. This isn't just a situation where people are upset because it's different, they're upset because it's genuinely not a good experience.
I'm not even sure how this helps streamers, viewers or Twitch. If people are infinitely scrolling through streams, they're not cheering bits, subscribing, or watching ads. It just uses up bandwidth without generating any revenue.
What was the objective of rolling this out to a small user base early for feedback if you just ignore the feedback and roll it out anyway? This move reeks of executives believing they know better than the customers. Stubbornly ignoring to acknowledge the users that are desperate to just wanting a good experience.
Twitch needs to lean into what makes the platform special rather than copying what's popular. While I do appreciate trying to help users discover new content, the way this update attempts to achieve that goal totally ignores any strengths Twitch has held over other content platforms.
Innovate on what makes Twitch better than other platforms.
And, most importantly, please stop ignoring everyone who's trying to express useful feedback. Ignoring customers has never worked out for any company historically, and usually signals the final stage in the collapse and ultimate fate of a struggling business.
