The design isn’t a great fit for the purpose of Twitch. This is one of those situations where you didn’t necessarily need to fix what wasn’t broken. I get that it’s important for an app to keep a fresh look and feel, but making minor improvements rather than a total UI overhaul was much more appropriate in this case. The TikTok design isn’t bad in itself, but it’s a bad fit for this app. If you’re familiar with it, think of the redesign of the MW2 (2022) UI to be much more like Hulu. It wasn’t a bad design for Hulu, but very poor for Call of Duty where it just didn’t make sense for the use case and it was received very poorly. I removed the mobile app for now until (hopefully) we get an option to have a layout similar to the previous one, or at least something that isn’t a UI mismatch
