[Feature] Stories on Twitch
Stories on Twitch is a new feature in the Twitch mobile app that helps you stay connected with your community when you’re not live. Stories let you share photos, clips, or freeform content using text, custom channel emotes, and backgrounds that expire in 48 hours. Creating stories is currently limited to Partners & Affiliates who have had at least one stream in the last 30 days. Streamers with at least 30 subscribers (including gift subs) will also have the option to create sub-only stories. Learn more about stories and current eligibility requirements in our Help Article: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/stories. We'd love to learn what else you'd like to see so share with us your feedback.

We all hate this. REMOVE. This feature has no place in twitch. It was stolen by twitch from instagram. Everyone gets the "remove twitch stories" addon, available for most browsers, because it's so bad and completely misses the point of live viewership.

Constructive feedback: it does not make sense in the context of Twitch. You are better off improving on your strength —which is offering a good live streaming platform— instead of making your platform worse by incorporating features from other platforms.
People clearly do not like having stories on the mobile app, nor do they like scrollable “feed” of streams from people they do not follow, nor do they like the inclusion of people they’ve never watched in their “Continue Watching” section of the Following tab.
I understand that leadership is driving a large part of these changes because they want to make the platform more profitable and they know that users are unlikely to leave to another platform because there’s nothing quite as good as Twitch. However, from a UX perspective, these changes are actively hostile to users’ preferences. People don’t want to spend money on a platform that actively and intentionally makes changes they do not like.

How do I opt out of stories as a viewer? I don’t feel that they add anything substantial and take away from finding a stream to watch. I would prefer the option to hide them from my app. iOS app
