It blows my mind how this has been going for MONTHS with no fix. It’s so annoying and I’ve now gone to YouTube to catch on streamers who duel stream because YouTube actually knows how to run things

It’s so annoying that the VOD go black. I’ve stopped watching them cause it happens constantly.

Yeah, that’s how we tend to watch Critical Role live-streaming, because we can see the captions.

Otherwise. We end up going to YouTube and giving YouTube the money.

I found a fix!
Well its more like a bypass but still i don't have black screens anymore. Quite simple actually all you have to do is to airplay your Iphone's twitch vod on your apple Tv. Works for me

We might need someone here who knows coding to get a job at twitch, fix the problem even though it’s not their department, and then quit. Thanks in advance for your service to this cause.

I suspect this has something to do with some form DRM protection that was quickly and poorly implemented.

But despite users having issues and this issue being reported multiple times, zero resolution or even a response from staff saying anything.

Definitely not fixed. It's actually gotten worse. Don't think they care though.

Interesting, I'm not sure what could have changed but I haven't been able to watch this guys stream in months without it going black or having to set it to 720p to stop it from going in slow motion and lagging. I guess I better make sure to not reboot.

Nope, Issue still happening. No updates available in App Store.

Well given the news of layoffs I think we're all screwed.

Build 12.2.0 black screen is still there.

Yep can confirm still the same issues after update. Black screens that require pause / play to come back. Laggy streams that randomly fast forward to catch up to itself and immediately starts lagging again (Majorly on 1080p / 120). The only way to watch it is by setting it to 720p 60. Even with that, it works but its still a little jittery. How is this still broken?
