Chat still expands to fill half the screen on iPad when a hardware keyboard is connected.
On the tablet version of the iOS Twitch mobile app, chat is normally positioned to the right side of the screen and is about the same width as on desktop.

When the software keyboard is enabled, chat expands to fill the upper-right quadrant of the screen while the stream stays in the upper left quadrant, which is normal.

However, when a hardware keyboard is connected, the software keyboard does not appear while typing; unfortunately, the chat still expands to fill half of the available screen real estate, minimizing the stream to the left.

Frustratingly, the screen has to be tapped or the trackpad must be clicked in order to restore the stream to its normal viewing size. This must be done after every chat message, or else the stream will remain minimized to the left.
It would be great if, when a hardware/bluetooth keyboard is connected, the chat could stay in its normal position on the right while typing. The chatbox is still large enough to type in this position, since it is about the same size as on the phone version of the app in portrait mode.
Screenshots were taken on an iPad Pro 12.9” with the Magic Keyboard. This behavior also happens when using any bluetooth keyboard.

I agree this is very annoying. Maybe they could bring the new chat overlay from the iPhone interface to iPad to avoid this?
