Android app video playback speeds up after ad
I've noticed the following thing on the Android app: when watching a video, an ad comes up (that's fine), but as soon as the ad's over, it cuts back to the video and the playback speed seems to be sped up slightly. It happened to me like 3 times now in the past week. Always the same issue.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Still happening.

I Googled this out of curiosity as it just happened to me. I assumed there would be a fix. Kind of disheartening to see such a huge issue has been identified and apparently ignored for months.

Still happening and still no fix, obviously Twitch viewers have no clout when it comes to getting a problem thats been happening for over a year, solved. I find it so annoying that l've just stopped watching VODs, which for those advertisers is self defeating, you would think with the money they spend on ads that they would push to get this issue solved.

I just had this exact problem. First in a short VOD the video got ahead of the audio. No biggie but annoying. Later, 20 minutes into a 3 hour VOD, an ad played making the audio turn chipmunk, speeding away from the actual video. I'd estimate that the audio was going 1.5x faster than the video based on the rate of separation and that 1.5x is the fastest speed I can still understand people on YouTube (where altering playback speed is a feature)

This happens to me almost every single time an ad plays on a VOD. Rarely does it NOT happen to me. Only fix I have is reopening the video after it happens.

This affects me too and it's really annoying. You can work around it by closing the video and reopening it.

I find the quickest way to switch it back to normal is to open another app then open twitch again. Still annoying tho
