Allow reading/editing of user's points totals for a channel
If a streamer authenticates with scope
channel:manage:redemptions or a new scope like
channel:manage:points, allow for the ability to
- read a user's current points
- add points to a user
- remove points from a user
- set a user's points to a specific value
for that channel.
I can understand the ability not to be able to add/subtract points from a user, but what is the harm in allowing a streamer to access the channel point values for their followers/subscribers?
Usecase being something like a leaderboard/wall of fame, etc.
At this time, we are purposefully only allowing redemption of points through the chat interface on Twitch.tv for a consistent user interface. We also do not plan to allow the adding or setting a user's total Channel Points through the API; Channel Points will be earned based on the earn rates found here: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/channel-points-guide
I'm personally not sure about the ability to read channel points for a user, either in total or for a specific channel. Will investigate.
