Make Art/Creative its own directory
Hey all!
We’re excited to announce that we’ve rolled out the new Creative directory today!
As we mentioned before, the Creative directory features creators in our artistic categories including Art, Beauty & Body Art, Food & Drink, Makers & Crafting, and Software & Game Development. This will make it easier for both viewers that want to discover creators in these categories and creators looking to find and connect with others who stream creative content.
We expect these directories to continue to grow over time, so please keep the ideas coming. And if you believe an existing category is missing from this list, please let us know.
Thank you for all your feedback and as always we look forward to more of it. We’re looking forward to seeing you, your communities, and your creativity in the new directory!

It's a shame that the arts on twitch keep getting pushed around. I really would like to see the CREATIVE category brought back, include all the art, makers and crafters and music in this category. At least before there was one place to look for all the creative type channels, not split into various areas. It's apparent the last change to remove creative and add art and makers and crafters flopped. Pushing art to the IRL category is just shoving it down the rabbit hole even further unless you are going to have a more structured subcategory section so that Creative things are easy to find.

Artist have been on Twitch since it's beginning and are one of most loved catagories on the site. However, creators in this catagory have always flown largely under the radar. Twitch cramming Art into the IRL tab beneath a sea of sleep streams, vlogs, and chat streams only serves to add to this issue. Art is such an integral part of the platform and it greatly deserves a larger spotlight, that should be clear to you by now, given that the vast majority of the comments on all of your directory posts and a large ammount of recent suggestions on this site have been passionately protesting for the inclusion of an art directory. Get it sorted. Please.

How is it that You at Twitch keep managing to shoot yourself in the foot? Is your marketing division on *****?

Art is incredibly important to anything related to Twitch content and is definitely closer to music creation than IRL things like Just Chatting or Cooking. If you want to keep the categories low, put music and art/creative together

On top of all the other reasons it just doesn't make sense. If an artist it creating art digitally, how is that "IRL" ??? Make Art/Creative its own directory.

Art being under irl is an awful and detrimental decision that will only drive artists away from your platform. Artists help your community (emotes, layouts etc) don't hide them under IRL. A good portion of your viewers go into irl solely to troll and artists already struggle to gain a solid audience on your platform. Several artists have already left twitch for YouTube, putting art/creative under IRL is just opened the door and encouraging them to leave. Give creative it's own category, put music under it (it is art after all), problem solved. People wouldn't have to visit a help directory to find the creators category they're looking for. You're making a hard process even harder.

This needs to be brought back. Art and creative streams are not "IRL" situations. There's too many amazing creators who've already been hurt by decisions about creative and art content. Don't add on to the pile.

Art & Creative is a critical component to my Twitch viewing experience and for Twitch to bury these categories is such a shame. Art & Creative have huge growing numbers of viewers all the time and especially right now in the midst of this pandemic, a lot of artists are relying on art streams to help get attention so they can sell their work and share their projects. Twitch, please do better and recognize the importance and significance that artists bring to the Twitch experience as a whole. Art & Creative really needs to be its own category.

Please bring back the art category. Taking away categories and shoving them into arbitrary, extremely broad ones is only going to stifle channels' growth by forcing them to compete with people in categories that aren't similar or related.

Art/Creative is integral to your site and
And deserves it's own category. Everyone uses banners emotes, avatars all on your site. They deserve a spot. You also have competitor sites that have these categories. It's just a smart business move, not to mention sites respect to a large integral part of your communities user base -

Especially considering your current issues with Music and DMCA, why would you spotlight music on its own? Make a Creative category that includes Art, Music, Game Development, Etc and allow IRL to be the cesspool that it is without dragging your strong and supportive creative community into it. This is where you are getting your emote, overlay, panel, and brand designers from. This is where you could be sourcing and supporting all sorts of user generated assets and content. Treat the creative community well and see those returns.

Creative needs to be its own category!! It'd especially be nice to have it divided up by medium so people who do handicrafts can be differentiated from people doing digital or traditional art etc.

Bring back Creative! If anything that would cover music and art so you don't even need to make another panel.

Creative needs to be its own directory. Not just for traditional drawing/digital, but many other types of streams can fit under creative.
Game development streams, Music creation. crafts and even cosplay/clothes making can fit in this category.
For all the stupid banning you guys are doing over music you guys should absolutely platform all the original stuff people are making. People are literally giving you money and userbase to show their work off and you guys can gain just as much as they would.

I like watching art streams but I’m not interested in what’s normally considered irl style videos. It’d be nice to just, get right to what I want instead of feeling like I gotta slog through a bunch of content I don’t want

Lumping art in with IRL makes no sense & will hurt artist discoverability. Having art be its own directory (or merge it with music & call it "Music & Art") will help people find the content they're looking for way more easily, especially since "just chatting" & other IRL-related categories are so big already.

As someone who really values art and it’s really disheartening seeing twitch just shove the art to the side like it has no value. The art community is so welcoming and it would be a shame if the were to just get shoved together with the IRL section. Streamers who are part of the art community on your platform do so much for their own community as well as for the entire community as a whole. Art streamers try their best to make their streams enjoyable and interactive but they constantly just get knocked down by the platform. Making the decision to get rid of the art category at a time like this will just discourage so many people to continue streaming which would be such a big loss for the platform.

yes keep it in it's own directory, IRL streaming is full of toxic trolls looking to mess with people

I only use this category, having to go thru the IRL one first is a hassle
