We’d love to request a new "Hangout" category on Twitch to support streamers who broadcast their Hangout.fm rooms and other interactive, real-time social experiences.

Why a "Hangout" Category?
Twitch has evolved beyond gaming, with communities embracing live, interactive hangout spaces. Many streamers are now broadcasting their Hangout.fm rooms, where they host real-time music listening parties, engage with their audience, and create collaborative social experiences.

A dedicated Hangout category would:

• Provide a home for streamers broadcasting Hangout.fm rooms 🎧
• Improve discoverability for interactive social streams 🎤
• Help viewers find and engage with community-driven listening parties 🎶
• Expand Twitch’s role as a platform for real-time social experiences 💬

Why This Matters
Currently, streams of Hangout.fm rooms and similar interactive experiences are scattered across "Just Chatting" or "Music", neither of which fully capture the real-time, collaborative nature of these streams. A dedicated Hangout category would:

• Make it easier for music and social streamers to reach their audience
• Give viewers a way to find live, interactive listening parties
• Strengthen Twitch’s support for community-driven experiences

Community Interest
Hangout.fm is growing as a hub for collaborative listening parties, with streamers regularly sharing their rooms on Twitch. A Hangout category would directly support this new wave of social streaming, giving these experiences the recognition they deserve.

We’d love to see Twitch embrace this evolution and provide a dedicated space for streamers sharing their Hangout.fm rooms.
