Add Earthdawn TTRPG category
Earthdawn TTRPG is an licensed game under FASA Games that released 30+ years ago. It's in the same universe as Shadowrun. There are players who come into my stream saying they've been looking for players in the category but it's hard to find them (They find me in D&D or trying to search "Earthdawn" directly. In the relevant online communities and even the official FASA discord, they have people saying they wish they could easily find players in the system to watch.
I understand that IGDB exists for Digital Gaming, but it's also for lifestyle content as well. Examples of "Just Chatting", "Art", "Software Development", "Tabletop Gaming" exist as a general catch all. But within those you have sub categories.
ie: Art has body painting
ie: Tabletop Gaming has Dungeons & Dragons, Shadowrun, Savage Worlds, Call of Cthulhu, Vampire: The Mascarade.
And yes, the above list might have official digital releases that tries to divert around the rules, but when you read their descriptions, they don't hide that they are for "The tabletop games". (Also, try to find a digital release for Savage Worlds or look at the box art for the majority of these categories, they aren't hiding they are for the TTRPG)
We have people in a gaming community trying to find the literal content that exists for their game. And they can't find it because it's not easily found. This is literally the definition of "Improving discovery".
Funny thing, This category was already advocated to Twitch over a decade ago now, existed for a majority of that time and recently it was removed.
Now it's people who used to find it have a hard time discovering other people who share their passion.
Honestly, if there's an official, licensed release of tabletop gaming with a legacy like 5-10+ years exists and a reasonably large enough community, there should be some process to consider it as part of the listing. This site isn't just for "Video Games" anymore, it's for gaming culture and sharing experiences.
It is unfortunate that under the current rules, an indie asset flip game can be discovered easier than TTRPG legacies. (ie: Like Earthdawn, Cyberpunk TTRPG)
