Hello Twitch Support,

I’ve been an Affiliate on Twitch for years, but due to the current video placement system, it has been challenging to grow my audience. Like many smaller streamers, I often start with only 1-2 viewers, which places me at the bottom of the stream list. This visibility issue makes it nearly impossible for new viewers to discover my content, as most users typically select streams from the top few rows—similar to how people rarely scroll past the first couple of pages in a search engine.

To address this challenge, I’d like to suggest a new feature aimed at helping Affiliates build an audience faster and progress toward Partner status more efficiently. The feature would allow Affiliates, particularly those in specific categories like Just Chatting, Talk Shows & Podcasts, IRL, and Politics, to stream in up to three categories simultaneously. By allowing this multi-category visibility, Affiliates can expand their reach and increase their chances of being discovered by viewers interested in different topics. This feature would be available only until they reach Partner status. Once a streamer becomes a Partner, the multi-category option could be removed, and any viewers acquired during this period would automatically follow the creator’s primary category.

Additionally, I would like to propose another feature to further support smaller streamers with lower viewership. When a user enters a category to view the available channels, there should be a carousel of thumbnails at the top featuring streamers who are actively streaming in that category and have five viewers or fewer. This would help direct more viewers to smaller streamers and push them higher in the viewership ranking. As their viewership grows, they would eventually drop off the carousel and continue to build their audience with positive momentum.

These two features could significantly improve the experience for Affiliates and smaller streamers, helping them grow their communities and reach Partner status more quickly.
