Channel Category: Education
Putting this idea through since the last one was marked as complete in 2022 but isn’t actually available to use.
A request to put a new category called “Education” in.
We have great categories like software technology or science, but sometimes we want to educate or run a workshop that doesn’t fall into a specific category listed.
Whether it’s streamed workshops, someone teaching a subject they love and are passionate about, or just a bunch of our educational friends sharing our crafts this could allow for something a bit more interactive that isn’t just “Just Chatting” or “Talk Shows and Podcasts” which may not necessarily showcase interactivity, or that it’s educational.

Whether you're looking to enhance your knowledge in a specific field or explore new areas of interest, educational channels provide accessible content that supports learning at your own pace. These platforms often include discussions on complex and sensitive topics. For example, if you're researching ethical issues, you can find informative essays on https://papersowl.com/examples/assisted-suicide/ that provide different perspectives and help deepen your understanding.

I honestly think this would be an incredible idea. To tack on an idea that could make it even more useful...
There's another suggestion in another UserVoice channel that suggests a 'secondary' category system for Retro games - where there IS a game category, but there are no viewers there because there's so few content created in the category. And because of that everyone puts themselves into Retro instead making it harder for VIEWERS to find the Retro game they are interested in. Retro acts as a catchall. The same way Just Chatting does.
The idea I think could work is to have an Educational category that acts as the main category and then a secondary category that is Art, Politics, Space, Makers and Craftsmen, Food etc. Because there's plenty of that content that is NOT inherently educational nor does it attempt to be educational (it attempts to be entertainment in many cases.)

Great idea! I support this as one who does nerdy topics such as plants (science) This would be wonderfully implemented. 😊

I definitely like the idea this category just for the clarity it gives on what the content in that category is for.

I think the amount of educational content on this platform is outstanding but besides tags we don’t have a great way of discovering others.
This would allow us to have a centralized category for all things education, teaching, or skill building.

I’d really love this category only just because a lot of my work is educating people and having this as a dedicated category helps let the audience know what they are getting into and will search out educational content.

I've recently looked for a category like this and been sad to see it doesn't exist. Just chatting can be very diluted with a lot of different types of talking, having an education specific category will help when searching!
