"Mini Painting" or "Miniatures" Should be a Category
"Mini Painting" is a distinct and vibrant community on Twitch, but it does not have a logical 'Category' home on twitch. This community is currently divided amongst a handful of existing categories which are each misleading or overly general.
"Mini Painting" streams are easily recognized by an overhead shot of hands painting miniatures for RPGs, Board Games, Tabletop Wargames, or for display. These streams often have a secondary face-cam, and possibly even a third camera for a paint palette. They are a distinct type of content. Typically there are close to 1000 concurrent viewers watching content creators from the Mini Painting community.
The easiest way for Twitch to support this branch of content is to give it an appropriate name. "Mini Painting" is my suggestion, but "Miniatures Painting" or "Miniatures" also give the correct idea.
This community is currently split between existing categories such as "warhammer," "art," "makers and crafting," and "just chatting." This hurts discoverability for mini painters. They are all overly broad, and they are often misleading.
Please, Please, PLEASE add "Mini Painting" as a category. :-)

So absolutely necessary! It's so frustrating to not have a section for this.

Miniature painting is the main reason I have a Twitch account. I also subscribe to Twitch Turbo and to channels because of miniature painting. I would love if it had its own category.

There have been requests for 'Miniatures' as a category before, and other streaming services have implemented this. There's a niche but passionate community of miniature painters, sculptors, gamers, and more that would finally be able to connect much better if this were a possibility.

This absolutely should be a thing. It'll be so much better instead of lumping it all under warhammer

I agree with this 100% miniature painting is a huge hobby and covers multiple categories, streamers find themself constantly changing categories to fit what they are working on (one day you're painting warhammer, but the next it may be a giant d&d dragon) these categories are not tailored to our niche so we get buried and viewers struggle to find us, this kills streamers discoverability and causes frustration for viewers who would likely hang around longer on twitch if the content they are looking for is in one place.

As a mini painter on twitch, and a viewer, yes. Make a category. It is not JUST WARHAMMER. We all engage with the hobby in different ways, let there be a category that covers it all and doesn't just pander to Games Workshops oppressive marketing!

Great idea!
I feel Miniatures would be a good catagory name, so that people who design miniatures in 3D Design Software can also have a home in it. -

100% Back this idea, would really help people find streams they are interested in, over 6 years on Twitch and would have been great to have this from the start. This would cover the broad spectrum of the hobby for all to use :)

Please bring this back. There use to be a catalogue like this back in the day.
It done so well for everyone.
For example if you are painting MCP, Batman, Bushido, Infinity where are you meant to stream.
Not Warhammer, not really Art as you'll get lost in there, same for Crafts.
Bring this back!

Absolutely allows us to have more control and allows streamers a channel that isn't 'Art' or 'Warhammer'

it is the only reason I am on twitch, and the only reason I spend money on the site to support those painters. If it wasn't for them, I'd still think twitch is useless like watching your sibling play games and not being able to play yourself

Great idea! The hobby is growing. This is a great place for beginners to learn; They should have easy access to finding what they're looking for.
