"Mini Painting" or "Miniatures" Should be a Category

"Mini Painting" is a distinct and vibrant community on Twitch, but it does not have a logical 'Category' home on twitch. This community is currently divided amongst a handful of existing categories which are each misleading or overly general.

"Mini Painting" streams are easily recognized by an overhead shot of hands painting miniatures for RPGs, Board Games, Tabletop Wargames, or for display. These streams often have a secondary face-cam, and possibly even a third camera for a paint palette. They are a distinct type of content. Typically there are close to 1000 concurrent viewers watching content creators from the Mini Painting community.

The easiest way for Twitch to support this branch of content is to give it an appropriate name. "Mini Painting" is my suggestion, but "Miniatures Painting" or "Miniatures" also give the correct idea.

This community is currently split between existing categories such as "warhammer," "art," "makers and crafting," and "just chatting." This hurts discoverability for mini painters. They are all overly broad, and they are often misleading.

Please, Please, PLEASE add "Mini Painting" as a category. :-)

    I have streamed on twitch for a number of years until recently. I stopped due to international move. I plan to go back to streaming once I move back home. This would be a fantastic addition to our community. It would make discoverability so much better for all of us that stream miniature painting.

    Been streaming for almost three years on twitch. Some others up to sevin years and more. Twitch only gave us the miniature figure keyword is all we got over the years. It would be fantastic if twitch would give us our own category. would be excellent to get all of the amazing content creators together in one place to share our miniatures together to our community. We have in my opinion the best community out here so let's all get on board and make this happen.

    Warhammer is only a portion of the hobby community. Mini painting should be a category.

    This would really help discoverability. Twitch Creative was a great thing for this and I wish it had never gone away. Since it's gone, though, having a category for miniatures and/or miniature painting would be great.

    So there's a pools, hot tubs & beaches category but nothing for a legitimately interesting hobby/craft as mini painting or miniatures in general 🤷

    One category for painting miniatures isn't a huge ask either. It's not like asking for a category for each game's miniatures. Similarly I would love to see a category for playing miniature wargames as they don't exactly fit Board Games or Tabletop RPGs categories. 2 simple additions that would allow our entire hobby and it's content.

    Had it happen a few times where I've been streaming under Warhammer and not painting Warhammer specific models and had people be a bit funny about it. Which is a little frustrating. A mini painting category would be perfect! If we can get a silly hot tub category then why not miniature painting!

    Always have to stream under warhammer but i never paint Warhammer models. need a better category

    yes! this will target our audiences and give the people what they want. Painting Miniatures or Miniature Painting

    As a Miniature painter streamer, our audience may not be as big as mainstream games but the ability for viewers to search a specific category would be awesome. Kick does it, Twitch should too.

    Would love to see this. With all the miniature content online, it should have its own category.
