Create a LEGO or BrickBuilding category
In the days of communities, BrickinNick and I pushed for Twitch to create a community for BrickBuilding. After some back and forth emails, we convinced Twitch that LEGO is a creative medium/form of expression and deserves to be recognized in the Creative category. Hooray!
Currently, tags have replaced communities. Tags created some discoverability but they are misused and often used by streamers playing unrelated games. A dedicated LEGO or BrickBuilding category would help users find more streamers building with LEGO bricks and similar construction kits.
LEGO is too broad of a hobby to lock into the makers and crafting category. From sets to people building their own creations, visiting conventions, designing their own parts, reviewing sets, and more!
If the title "BrickBuilding" is chosen as a more suitable name for the category, as it is already known for LEGO building on Twitch, we hope it would still be discovered when searching the term "LEGO" as well!
Thanks and happy building!

Those of us who have already found our way into the LEGO community on Twitch know to look for LEGO streams in the Brickbuilding tag. But people on the outside just search for the word "LEGO" - and unless a streamer has included that in their title, potential viewers aren't going to find their streams. Plus, many users stream LEGO multiple times before even finding out about the Brickbuilding tag, meaning viewers that would have loved to have found them never really had the chance.
A dedicated category would allow us a place to really build our communities and find new streamers and new viewers alike. -

100% support this! As many mentioned before categories evolved. And as this community continues to grow, having a more dedicated category to the BrickBuilding streamers would help. The tag was great when it was moderated. But it’s so watered down by streamers that aren’t LEGO builders.

It's a shame many of us go back and forth on which category we even belong in. Are we making/crafting? Just chatting? Brick Building heartily deserves its own category. Can't wait to be more easily found by my kindred spirits and brick buddies!

Just as Talk Shows and Podcasts was created outside of just chatting and how Art stands apart from Makers and Crafting, there's definitely a need and precedent for Brickbuilding to have a stand alone category. Strongly support this.

This is 100% needed. There is very much a rising love of LEGO, especially in adults recently and there needs to be an easier way for people to discover this content .

Twitch often champions diversity and the niche sides of the internet live streaming landscape. The more niece and diverse categories can get shows that inclusivity and makes sure audiences can be found quicker, easier and have more channels supported by its viewers!

While I get that "Art" as a category is really broad and all-including, I think that specializing that branch should definetly be a thing.
Almost every video game has it's own category, so why not have a lot of different ones for arty things like painting, drawing, arts and crafts or even LEGO/brickbuilding.
We need to unify the "just chatting", the "art" and every other category's brickbuilders into their own. That would really help out the community - streamers and viewers alike!

A LEGO or BrickBuilding Category is long overdue! Anyone hopping on Twitch to stream some LEGO building fun for the first time is usually left guessing whether to stream under Just Chatting, Makers & Crafting, or sometimes even one of the many LEGO Video Game categories.
With a LEGO or BrickBuilding Category (and as SetToBuild suggested, the latter searchable using the word LEGO), streamers of any kind will easily be able to find the right category for them... as well as help folks find other builders to pass the love onto with raids and hosts!
